Uses red and green for extra detail. More true than RRGB, less than RGB.

This technique uses the red channel twice for extra detail. Changes colors/natural appearance some.

Two of the three brightest moons and Iapetus (which is only near Saturn sometimes)

The rings are opening up again. Rhea (moon) is above lower ring. Windy so lower image scale.

Pretty good seeing for winter, you can see a little of the Cassini gap in rings, no visible storms

Notice how thin the rings are, pretty good seeing but not very transparent, blue channel was dim

Saturn only looks like this every 15 years. Now the Northern Hemisphere will be featured.

This was one of the first decent shots I've seen of Saturn this year.  I sent it in to www.spaceweather.com and they posted it.  It will be interesting to see Saturn's almost entire globe this year.

I couldn't resist posting after I saw Titan. Hope you enjoy too. More to come as it gets closer...

Not sure why the colors came out different.  I used the same processing basically.  The gain on the camera was lower so maybe that had something to do with it.  Taken about the same time - 05:48 GMT on 1/28/08.
