LADY PANTHERS CAPTURE AAC TITLE WITH 19-0 SEASON
The regular 2009 fall season came to a close with a 9-0 victory against Tuscola at home on October
13th. This win cliniched the Appalachian Athlethic Conference title and gave the panther's their first undefeated season
The team was ranked in the top ten of the state poll most of the season. They reached the number
eight spot with their win over Hickory in dual team action.

October 16th, 2009
The Lady Panthers advance two doubles teams & one singles player to the Western Individual Regional
Tournament with big wins at the AAC tournament.
Andrea Bell & Savannah Herman was joined by Kaitlyn Sutton, Nikki
Valley & Maci LeQuire at the tournament on October 23rd.
Bell & Herman represented the Appalachian Conference as the number one doubles seed.
Sutton & Valley represented the number two seed. LeQuire represented the conference in singles as the number
two seed.
The event was hosted by Patton High School, located in Morganton, NC.
In AAC tournament action,Bell & Herman defeated East Henderson's Hamilton & Reese 10-0, Tuscola's
McClure & Gibson 10-0. They cliniched the first place seed by defeating Franklin's number two team; Sutton &
Valley 10-2.
Sutton & Valley defeated Tuscola's Buckner & Sease 10-4; West Henderson's Tobin
& Huntley 10-4.
Maci LeQuire defeated Chandler Coleman of West Henderson 10-1; Tuscola's Emily Fender 10-6.
LeQuire was defeated in the championship round 1-10 by West Henderson's Amie Cloer.
DUAL TEAM
The Lady Panther's received the number one seed in dual team due to be conference champions. The first round of play was at home against Hickory, with the panthers winning 6-0.
Next, the team traveled to Asheville and were defeated 3-6 by the Lady Cougars. Asheville advanced
to the semi-final round before being defeated 9-0 by Charlotte Catholic.

September 14, 2009
Franklin defeats West Henderson 9-0. The two top number one players in the conference battle
it out with Franklin's Andrea Bell defeating Amie Cloer 6-1, 6-4.
In other action, Kaitlyn Sutton defeated Jessica Tobin 6-3, 6-2. Savannah Herman defeated Elizabeth
Huntley 6-2, 6-2. Aubrey Brokaw defeated Chandler Coleman 6-0, 6-1. Maci LeQuire defeated Heather Waldrop 6-0 6-2. Nikki Valley
defeated Sam Hartz 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, Bell & Herman won 8-2, Sutton & Brokaw won 8-0, Valley & Sellers won 8-2.

Franklin plays three match deciding tie breakers to take a 7-2 win against number two Brevard.
Andrea Bell defeated Julia Vanhorn 6-0, 7-2 (7-4); Savannah Herman falls to Lauren Fuller 4-4, 6-4,
6-7 (8-10); Nikki Valley defeated Katie Honer 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (10-6); Maci LeQuire defeated Hunter Hall 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (10-6);
Cori Sellers defeated Karina Dierolf 6-3, 6-2; Katie Rogers defeated Greer Robinson 6-2, 6-0.
In doubles, Bell & Herman defeated Vanhorn & Fuller 9-7. Valley & Sellers were defeated
by Honer & Hall 8-5. LeQuire & Rogers defeated Dierolf & Walker 8-5.
Recent Events
A special thanks goes out to the team members which participated in the mixed doubles tournament.
The B division was very competitive this year with three matches being determined by using the super tie breaker.
Congratulations to Andrea Bell & Jeff Bosio for taking first place in the B division. Carmen
Vinson & David Barton won the consolation trophy.
