Scrapbook Answers Article

Here are a few pointers that may answer some questions you might have...
Q: How much workspace is there for each guest?

Each guest has over 10 square feet of workspace.  There is also a supply shelf, light, trash bin, cup holder and power source at each space.

Q: Can I still come to Garden Spa if I am not a scrapbooker?

Absolutely! There is so much to do at the home and in the surrounding area, please feel free to simply come and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing weekend.

We are also eager to spoil quilters and other hobby enthusiasts.

Q: I am a quilter.  Should I bring my own sewing machine?

Yes, please bring your sewing machine and everything else needed to make your lovely quilt.

Q: What should I wear?

The weather in the "Five Cities" is very pleasant.  Temperatures generally range from 65 degrees to 75 degrees.

The atmosphere at the getaway is casual so please bring your most comfortable clothes.  You can stay in your PJs all day long if you'd like.  I recommend you bring a light jacket for the afternoons and evenings and some walking shoes in case you decide to go to the beach or village.

Q: I am a beginning scrapper.  What should I bring to work on?

To help you get organized, please consider the following:

Decide ahead of time whether you want to work on a family album, a specific vacation or series of vacations, one child's album, etc.

If you are working on a child's book, think about how you want the book to progress.  For example, do you want to do a chronological book from birth or a book on "firsts" or special events?  Making this decision up front will make your time scrapping easier and more enjoyable.

Once you make that decision, pull together all the pictures relating to that focus and bring them with you.

If you want to bring your scrapbooking tools, please do so.  Otherwise, you can purchase albums, pages, page protectors, tools, supplies and embellishments right on site at the "Garden Tool Shed". There are also tools on site that you are welcome to use.

And if you need help getting started - don't worry, I will be happy to help you get going.

Q. What tools are available to use?

There are many tools including a computer and printer available for your use in the workroom.  Please see the complete list of supplies and tools on the Amenities page under "The Scrapping Room" section.

Q. What are the sleeping accommodations?

There are three bedrooms with a total of 10 beds.  The bedrooms are large and spacious and each guest will have their own twin bed.  The three bathrooms easily accommodate all 10 guests.

Q. What else is there to do in the Arroyo Grande area?

If you would like to take a break, there are many activities you may choose to experience.  Garden Spa Scrapping is only one block from the 4 1/2 star Cypress Ridge golf course.  Pismo Beach and the Pismo Beach Pier are a 7 minute drive from the retreat.  The historic downtown Arroyo Grande Village is also a 7 minute drive from the getaway.  There are wonderful shops, walking paths, and dessert parlors in the village.  There are many local wineries to visit - the nearest one is only 3 miles away.  You might also choose to simply walk through the immediate neighborhood as the setting is picturesque.
