The Green Revolution

Players are farmers in the late 21st century. They must band together to protect their crops and livestock from bandits, negotiate with villages and megastructures alike, and deal with diseases and bad weather.

It's the late 21st century. Earth has been ravaged by global warming and genetically engineered diseases. Yet, the economy is strong, technology continues to improve, and few people starve. Still, it is a more complex world than ours.

People either live in megastructures (think super-sized skyscrapers) holding millions, or small villages composed of relatively peaceful artisans in the ecologically ravaged wild.

Martial arts, projectile weapons, and armor are the order of the day for villagers, as they must protect themselves from roving bandits. But villagers also depend on the Grid (a combination super-Internet and power distribution system) to trade their wares in a complex electronically mediated barter.

Dwellers in megastructures live cramped, busy lives — but they also get to enjoy the latest technology, and visit the last remaining wildernesses, protected "ecologues" that contain rare species of animals and plants in great temperature— and moisture— controlled stuctures.
