Doylestown, Feb. 28 - The Coalition for Voting Integrity will be continuing the People's Filibuster to Save the Vote taking place outside the Doylestown Courthouse Tuesday, February 28 from 9am to 5pm.

In a repeat of Monday's successful effort, members of the Coalition for Voting Integrity and other concerned citizens will be gathering outside the Doylestown Courthouse throughout the day on Tuesday in anticipation of the Commissioners' meeting on Wednesday.

Participants in Monday's filibuster held signs that said "Honk for Paper Ballots" and "Call Your Commissioners." Citizens stood at the corner in front of the courthouse in two-hour shifts and reported hearing car horns blare every minute or so throughout the day. At one point a man stopped his car to hand volunteers a box of pastries. He told them that he did it because he supported the Coalition and the work it is doing.

Tom Ulrich, the Coalition member who accepted the baked goods, shared his impression of the day. "The more people find out about the voting machine situation in Bucks County, the more they support a voter-verified paper ballot and that's clear from the response we got today from people walking and driving by."

The point of the two-day event is to remind the commissioners of their responsibility to the voters of Bucks County, who deserve an accurate, verifiable and cost-effective voting system, which will provide a voter-verified paper ballot.

The public is encouraged to attend. Citizens will be invited to speak. Coalition members will be available at various times throughout the day to answer questions about the issue of voter-verified paper ballots, voting machine options and the lawsuit brought by CVI against the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
