June Pirotin McWilliam born and raised in New York City, attended Boston University, and has lived in Buckingham, PA, for twelve years. She works
tirelessly for animal rescue and land preservation. June is president and founder of Helping Animal Victims of Catastrophe
(HAVOC), a state-licensed rescue kennel and 501c(3). This organization has rescued and/or adopted out close to three
hundred dogs and cats, most of them from the Katrina-ravaged areas of New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
HAVOC was singled out by the Department of Homeland Security for commendation for exemplary community service under dire conditions
for its work in New Orleans. HAVOC has been recognized by national animal protection groups as a valued member
of the Katrina animal rescue community. HAVOC is also a participant with the Bucks County Animal Rescue Team (BCART), which
is trained and designated to respond to any major local disaster. June has also been interviewed on the topic of Katrina animal
rescue for local television programs, including Tempo airing on WLVT.
In the immediate wake of Katrina, June also started a relief effort for humans
that was responsible for sending over ninety tons of medical, hygiene, and infant care supplies over the next two months.
June is also on the Committee for the Car Show, which helps support the Buckingham
Land Preservation Fund. The classic car show raises over a hundred thousand dollars annually. June also started the Antique
Flea Market for Land Preservation in Buckingham and is on the board of the Buckingham Township Civic Association.
