Voice of the Voters

12-31-2008

Summary

The December 31, 2008, broadcast, “It’s Always about the Money,” included a forty-minute fundraising effort where all of the special features of Voice of the Voters radio were presented in a manner that allowed the listener to fully appreciate what would be missed if Voice of the Voters was no longer on the air.

Examples offered were taken from a long list of guests whose voices and messages have been part of the Voice of the Voters experience, including authors of election integrity and voting history books, makers of movies about election integrity, and politicians, as well as many informational discussions that provided to the listener specific data and perspectives that they would have lacked if Voice of the Voters was extinct.

In exchange for $60 donations, copies of Lori Rosolowsky’s CD Pass It On, as well as copies of Jim Strait’s book, Weird Missouri, were offered. Also, for donations of $100 a copy of the movie Uncounted: The New Math of American Elections is available to any listener generous enough to donate at that level. And there is even an opportunity for a listener to be an on-air co-host for a contribution of $250.

Following the fundraising element of the broadcast, a rebroadcast of Professor Gordon S. Woods' 2007 Independence Day interview completed the program.
