A free public seminar on land preservation was
held in the township building. The website described it this way:
"Farmland Preservation Seminar--October 13, 2007 @ 10:00 AM. The preservation of
farmland and open space provides numerous benefits to the community including the protection of rural character and scenic
vistas, maintenance of a viable agricultural economy, watershed protection and the preservation of wildlife habitat. With the goal of educating the public about issues involving land preservation within
Plumstead Township,
this seminar will provide information on the environmental and economic benefits of land preservation. Topics will include
an overview of past preservation efforts within the Township, methods of acquisition including the purchase and donation of
conservation easements and outright purchases, application to the preservation program, selection criteria and preservation
goals for the Township."
Contact Louis Fineberg, lfineberg@plumstead.gov / Director
