I expect to pass through life but once.  If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again. William Penn (1644-

1718)

It was just after summer last year that Oluwadahunsi sent his first book for me to review.  Little did I know then what a powerful influence this man was going to have upon me and my life.  I was very impressed when I read *My Book of Life, A Companion Piece: Letter to Maya Angelou (Pictures & Words) which continues to be available through amazon.com and other outlets.  I gave the book a very positive review and then quickly went on with my many other projects.  Every so often I would think of Oluwadahunsi, recall some of his written words, and wonder how he was proceeding with the series of books that he planned to write.

Then, a few months ago, I received a request for a second review and, soon afterward, a third.  As I read the words of this gifted man and corresponded with him via e-mail, I found myself wanting to learn more about the individual behind the unique writing which I considered to be indefinable.  As a publisher of sixteen years, an author of 7 books, and someone who has been involved in the book business most of her adult life, I realized that, try as I might, I could not put his writing into a category.  It wasn’t quite poetry, and it wasn’t quite prose.  Instead it was a combination of both that stirred the imagination and challenged the intellect.  The messages spoke their own language, mostly a language of love and counsel.

Late one night as I sat at my computer pondering my state of declining health, I tried to hold back the tears as I cried out to God for help.  I had been diagnosed with a non-curable disease which was causing me great distress and holding me back from my work.  Although I had many friends who were praying for me, I suddenly thought of Oluwadahunsi and felt that I was being led to contact him.  At first I hesitated because I did not know much about this man’s personal life in regard to his faith or spirituality.  He didn’t even know that I was Christian.  What would he think if I contacted him and asked for prayer?  But that small, still voice within me insisted that I e-mail him and ask for prayer.  After making this decision, I went to bed and slept better than I had in weeks.  The next morning I checked my e-mail and found a letter from Oluwadahunsi that was filled with Scripture and prophecy in regard to my health problem.  He assured me that I was healed…that the problem had been resolved.  And I believed him!  At this point he was basically a stranger, but I believed his words were inspired…that he spoke the truth.  Soon afterward, I was totally healed of the illness that I had battled for eighteen months.  God healed me; certainly not Oluwadahunsi, but he was a vessel that brought the healing to fruition.

At this point our relationship changed—it became spiritual in nature. We were no longer mere business acquaintances but had a Godly connection that brought about a close friendship built upon a foundation of spiritual love.  Soon we began sharing information about our families, and he and my husband enjoyed many in-depth telephone conversations about God, life, and love. I told my husband that Oluwadahunsi had become my online spiritual advisor…and it was true. When I confided in him that my son had been out of work—as far as his chosen field of engineering—for six years, he prayed about this and told me that my son had a job and that his life would be good.  Shortly afterward this came to pass. It is a two-way spiritual line that connects us.  I have given him words of advice and encouragement that God has led me to share with him…words that were ultimately confirmed in one way or another. We listen to each other because we understand the spiritual happenings.

Oluwadahunsi is an “over-comer” whom I greatly respect, admire, and love.  I believe his gift of writing is a spiritual outreach that is intended to influence many people.  His words are a gift—not for a chosen few—but to all who choose to partake.  Though some of his writings are secular in nature, all are meaningful and ultimately take readers into a realm that will promote love and a Christ-like attitude. He is a writer, counselor, and a man of great spiritual depth.
