Musical Instrument Inventor's Workshop
Students build their own working musical instruments including strings, winds and percussion.
These easy-to-play, simple versions of standard orchestral instruments help us explore the physics of sound as we discuss
the nature of vibration and the relationship between pitch and frequency. The workshop ends with the class using their new
instruments to play a short piece of music together. All the instruments that students make are theirs for further use in
the classroom or to take home.
Available as a single, 45 minute workshop or a six week residency. An excellent hands-on extension after the Music, Sound
and Science assembly program. Grades K-12.
"Thank you for the wonderful workshops you gave at our school. The children enjoyed themselves immensely while they learned
about making music and sound. We hope that we will have the opportunity to meet with you again in the years to come."
