New Parent Tips:

Purchase your childs swim suit several sizes smaller - helps keep drag to a minimum.   (helps them swim faster)

Put baby powder in your child's swim cap - helps to put in easier.

Make sure you child stays hydrated and eats well.  Bring snacks for them to munch on throughout the meet.  Have your child drink Gatorade during meet - they are sweating even in the water.

Write Event, Event number, Heat & Lane on your childs hand or arm so they can keep track of where they need to be and what they are swimming.

Bring a hoody to keep your child's muscles warm after they warm up.

Keep track of  your childs times.

Have your child check in with their coach after the event they swim.

Have your child be on pool deck and ready the event prior to the one they are swimming.

When in doubt - ASK!!!  Ask anyone in the organization or best yet ask your child's coach.  This is a great organization and people are more than willing to help others.

Volunteer at meets, or to be part of a committee, come to Board meetings to learn more- we need parents to be involved!  Knowledge is your greatest tool!

Bring to meets:

Blanket, munchies, Gatorade, Hoody, pen or marker for putting information on child's hand/arm, highlighter for heat sheet, money for a heat sheet, book or something to help pass the time for your child while waiting for their events.

Summer season:  bring the above along with a tent or canopy,  bag chairs ( for parents & child), camera, SUNBLOCK!!!
