HELLO MEMBERS: It’s been awhile since you have been updated on the happenings of your club so a newsletter was suggested
to bring everyone up to speed. As you can see by the header, a new President was elected last April. Brent Brigham is now
the president of the club and Real Cyr took over Brent’s place as Trail Master. The Vice President slot remains vacant,
and Ken Stockwell is still our faithful Treasurer, as well as Lisa Kline our faithful secretary.
EVENTS: This past year we held two fund-raising events. In February we held radar runs down at St. Albans Bay and then in
April we held our second Calcutta. Both events were successful and brought in much-needed money to the club. With the purchase
of our groomer two years ago, we now have added expenses for that. The groomer went out quite a bit last year. For those
of you who rode our trails, we hope you enjoyed them.
The radar runs and the Calcutta help ensure the success of our club. These two events will be talked about soon. If anyone
is interested in helping out in either of these events, come to the meetings or call any of the officers listed in the header.
There’s always room for more help, and new ideas are always appreciated.
TRAIL REPORT: There really isn’t a trail report yet; however, much work has already been done. There has been a couple
of changes in the Fairfax area around the Nichols property and on the Conger Road (if you hadn’t noticed, it was paved
over the summer). There’s always work to be done on the trails, especially this time of year. Help is always welcomed
and appreciated! If you are interested in working on trails (lots and lots to do), call Real Cyr at 524-4541.
WEB SITE: The club has a web site that we try to keep as up-to-date as possible. Check us out at:
http://mysite.verizon.net/resqhwdf/fcsnowraiders.
SAFETY COURSES: A reminder to all parents. A safety course is required for anyone who was born after July 1, 1983 and will
be the age of 12 prior to April 15, 2006. Our club has two certified safety instructors who are working on getting some classes
together for this year. Check out our web site for further information and contact numbers.
MEMBERSHIP: Club dues were voted on at the October meeting and will remain at $10.00. If you haven’t read your VAST
News this past summer/fall you might want to go back to it and read it. The VAST TMA system has all changed this year with
different categories of sleds that you can purchase by AND with significant savings if you purchase your TMA before December
15th. The VAST web site also has the information http://www.vtvast.org . Memberships for our club can be purchased at
the following locations: All Seasons Sports, Senesac’s Yamaha in St. Albans, or by calling Ken Stockwell at 849-6619.
Ken always has memberships available at monthly club meetings too.
MEETING: Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at the VFW on Lake Street in St. Albans.
Note the early start time. Traditionally we hold a pot luck for our December meeting. We’d like to see you there!
Bring a dish to share or come anyway for the meeting at 7:00. There’s always plenty of food for all.
