Allow Me To Give You A Brief History On Faux Finishing : During The Renaissance , Kings,Emporers And The Well To Do ,Would Hire Artisans To Duplicate Looks Of Wood , Stone ,And Ageing Charecteristics When The Authentic Materials Were Not Available Or Certain Colors Were To Be Achived.They Would Paint These Looks On The Desired Surface Or Location. As More Natural Materials Became Available For Use Many Of These Practices Were No Longer Used .Until The Time Of The Great Depression ,Many Of These Practices were Resurected and began to be used Again ,This Time to Keep Cost Down ,And Still Achieve  The Desired Look. We Still Follow Those Methods Today ,Despite Modern Technolegy. Some Things Are Best Left Alone................
