Photo time!
My mom got me a couple of family pictures and I have finally scrapped them. Of course, the pages aren't finished
as they have no information on them and I don't have an album to put them in. But, gosh darnit, I like the layout!
This is my Great-great Grandma Henrietta.
This is one of her sons...David. I think she had 13 kids. Lots of them are twins...hehe, did you catch that Carie! ;)
Here's Cirel hanging out in the University Bookstore. This is Cougar Country!
Here she is, resting at the park.
Here she is for her first picture day. She cheesed it up for the photographer (not me) and I can't wait to order those
shots. Isn't she just the cutest thing?!

Chiropractor
I finally went to one. Remember about a month ago I said my back hurt...well, it hasn't stopped. It's all good,
though. I now have a medical card.
So far nothing seems to be too out of place. I needed an adjustment. It looks like I have a couple of pelvic bones kinda
rubbing together. Yes, it's as great as it sounds!
On an unrelated note: Cirel is starting 3 days a week at her preschool next week! (JOY) And today was picture day. I
don't know when the pictures will be back, but I know she is just plain-old adorable.
Nothing else interesting to report. sigh. Oh, I've been working on Christmas cards already. So, that should be interesting.

Warning!
While I appreciate anyone thinking highly enough of me to send me warnings of Bad Things, I do appreciate a bit
of research to make sure it's true. That way we don't have to get unnecessarily scared.
Just in case you are not familiar with it, I will tell you all about it.
Snopes is a wonderful internet reference tool. You can do quick searches
here with just a keyword from your suspicious email.
So, next time you get an email that tells you how we are in serious danger, from whatever...just check it out at Snopes
first. I'm not saying they are comprehensive, but so far they have been able to tell me about many an email. Dare I say it?
Some things are actually true!

Okay, pictures of first day and fun game
They are huge and I didn't feel like resizing.
And here is the "game"...it can be loud so turn down the sound, but don't worry, it's workplace friendly.

I don't have enough fingers to point in the many directions...
This snippet is taken from an
interview on Meet the Press. Tim Russert vs. Ray Nagin (New Orleans Mayor):
RUSSERT: Many people point, Mr. Mayor, that on Friday before the hurricane, President Bush declared an impending disaster.
And The Houston Chronicle wrote it this way. "[Mayor Nagin's] mandatory evacuation order was issued 20 hours before the storm
struck the Louisiana coast, less than half the time researchers determined would be needed to get everyone out. City officials
had 550 municipal buses and hundreds of additional school buses at their disposal but made no plans to use them to get people
out of New Orleans before the storm, said Chester Wilmot, a civil engineering professor at Louisiana State University and
an expert in transportation planning, who helped the city put together its evacuation plan." And we've all see this photograph
of these submerged school buses. Why did you not declare, order, a mandatory evacuation on Friday, when the president declared
an emergency, and have utilized those buses to get people out?
MAYOR NAGIN: You know, Tim, that's one of the things that will be debated. There has never been a catastrophe in the history
of New Orleans like this. There has never been any Category 5 storm of this magnitude that has hit New Orleans directly. We
did the things that we thought were best based upon the information that we had. Sure, here was lots of buses out there. But
guess what? You can't find drivers that would stay behind with a Category 5 hurricane, you know, pending down on New Orleans.
We barely got enough drivers to move people on Sunday, or Saturday and Sunday, to move them to the Superdome. We barely had
enough drivers for that. So sure, we had the assets, but the drivers just weren't available.
RUSSERT: But, Mr. Mayor, if you read the city of New Orleans' comprehensive emergency plan-- and I've read it and I'll
show it to you and our viewers--it says very clearly, "Conduct of an actual evacuation will be the responsibility of the mayor
of New Orleans. The city of New Orleans will utilize all available resources to quickly and safely evacuate threatened areas.
Special arrangements will be made to evacuate persons unable to transport themselves or who require specific life-saving assistance.
Additional personnel will be recruited to assist in evacuation procedure as needed. Approximately 100,000 citizens of New
Orleans do not have means of personal transportation."
It was your responsibility. Where was the planning? Where was the preparation? Where was the execution?
MAYOR NAGIN: The planning was always in getting people to higher ground, getting them to safety. That's what we meant by
evacuation. Get them out of their homes, which--most people are under sea level. Get them to a higher ground and then depending
upon our state and federal officials to move them out of harm's way after the storm has hit.
There's more, of course. But this is enough to get my blood boiling. I remember when I first saw Ray Nagin he was
verbally handing the federal government it's ass. I thought, you go man. Tell 'em! But then I started reading up and realized
that he had ALOT of time to do some evacuating. He had a lot of time to find ways to get people out of the city.
Hell, this guy (Brendan Loy) managed to predict what was going to happen. He had the presence of mind to say by Friday before the storm hit, that New Orleans should be
evacuated. Not voluntarily, but mandatorily.
I read all his entries on Katrina, they were fabulous. It's sad folks, just fucking tragically sad.

Now I've gone and done it
2 days a week...3 hours per day....PRESCHOOL! Hooray, it's about damn time.
Cirel starts her first day of preschool tomorrow and I can't wait. She's moderately excited. I don't think she really
understands what is going to happen...of course, how could she. But she will find out tomorrow and I think it's nap time for
mommy. :D
That'll be 6 hours a week to myself. What in the world should I do?

Uber
I'm uber at something...huzzah!
Laziness...no one is better at it than me.
Oh yeah, it's cold today. And raining. And bills are due...lots of them. We are still waiting on pay from so many different
sources. WSU has to reimburse us for the move...the Army still needs to pay out his annual leave....the electric company owes
us a refund check....and I need groceries!
But don't fret, all is well and we are not in any trouble. I'm just a freak about my budget. I like to know exact numbers
so I can plan accordingly.
Enough. Hey, I'm reading HPB again. It's much better the second time around. I can actually concentrate on what is happening.
BTW, I am sick of HP fandom hating on Ginny Weasley. She didn't just all of a sudden develop a personality out of nowhere...the
books are strictly from Harry's point of view. In other words, she only has the personality that Harry notices! (and sometimes
he doesn't notice much)
I'm just feeling rather random today. I feel like I have called up my best friend to sit on the phone and say nothing.
Ever have one of those moments?

Don't touch that dial (hehe...button)
This household has been taken over with Dora Fever. Cirel can officially watch it at all hours. It's a good thing that
I like the show. :)
She also seems to really love a show called Lazy Town. Check these guys out!
Don't fret, I don't have her watching tv all day...no really. Just yesterday she met some neighborhood children and had
a great time playing in their yard.
How 'bout me, you ask? Well, I just want to scrap. *sigh*
Edit: Had to add comment code. oops. :)
