Resolutions
I don't know if I want to put my resolutions into writing. It's always such a disappointment when they go unfulfilled.
Not to mention the fact that like
Pez, I make the same ones over and over.
Maybe I ought to shake things up a bit in 2006.
Yeah...I vow to treat my fellow human beings better. We could all stand to be nicer in thought and deed.
I shall also follow some personal bliss this year. Nothing to do with husband or child. Just me. I think it shall take
the form of a martial arts class of some kind.
Cirel is getting closer to school-age. It's time I started to think about a career. In fact, I have one in mind. I shall
take steps towards that goal this year. (More on this later. When the committment is done, then I shall elaborate)
Of course, I need to lose some weight. There's no way around that. I am clinically obese and I am NOT happy about it.
The last time I tried to lose weight though, nothing would come off. I suppose I shall start at the doctor's office this time.
Happy New Year everyone. Here's to a blessed 2006 for you all.

Ahh, Holiday vacation
I also received some kick-ass cool professional kitchen implements from my husband, mother, and sister. Of course, I
got some neat scrapbooking items. My mom even made me a cool holding place for my most used scrapbooking tools. It is weighted
at one end so it can hang off the table while I crop. It even has a spot for trash scraps. It's fabulous!
Cirel got so many things I won't name them. Let's just say that she had a great Christmas and enjoyed opening all her
gifts.
Before Christmas we had two of Danny's student-athletes over for dinner and a movie. These ladies are both on the Tennis
team. They are international students(Eka is from Isreal and Alek is from Macedonia), so they didn't make the long trek home
for the holidays. Have I mentioned that Danny works with some of the most beautiful girls on campus? It's a good thing I am
a secure woman. :) Anyway, they are both sweet girls and we very much enjoyed their company.
Now, after Christmas we got another great present. When we first moved to Pullman, we had satellite tv installed. That
made us happy, but we found out after a service call that no professional installer would have put the satellite where it
ended up or done the wiring in his manner. In other words, our installer did a sub-standard job.
Well, the tech who told us that got an inspector to come out and take pictures of it and left us with no information.
So, I finally got off my duff and called the office and asked what can be done about it. A specialist happened to be out near
us and he came over right away.
As soon as he saw it, he said he remembered the pictures and wondered why no one had taken care of it. Then he proceeded
to take care of it. He fixed all the wiring AND he relocated the dish. After doing all that work, he called into the office
and told someone to give us something for our trouble. (I was happy just getting the dish relocated for free), but now we
have Starz for the next 3 months for free too.
That dude went above and beyond...just the way I like my customer service. So now we have lived here for 4 months and
this is the first time we have had uninterrupted service. Thanks, Bill.

A letter from Cirel
Let me translate for those who don't read Toddler....
Dear Dadda,
Come home please. I want you to drive the car. I love you.
She didn't sign the letter, but I think Danny will know who it is from. Isn't that the sweetest!!

Harry Potter has a new job
Well, folks, there is a British comedy show (I have no idea what it is about...help me out, Dmouse) called This
Way Up. Daniel Radcliffe put in a short performance that is featured at a
fan site. Just look for the entry titled:

Now don't get me wrong...
I'm not a rabid fan of all the
ACLU does. In fact, I honestly don't think about it much. But my dear ultra-conservative friend Terry (who can't even utter the
word gay ;) ), sent me an email that reminds me of soo much political blah blah blah that I cannot ignore it.
The letter boils down to the ACLU is persecuting Christians and all they stand for. Let's see if that holds up under
scrutiny.
Now, don't get me wrong. I have seen some of their cases that don't make a lick of sense to me considering I don't see
seperation of church and state in the same way they do. But I don't think they can be classified as looking to persecute Christians.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Terry, go play some video games and leave us semi-sane people alone. ;p

Guilty pleasures
Okay, I don't feel so guilty about them. Some recent discoveries that make me smile from ear to ear are:
1.
Celestial Seasonings Tea Dream Vanilla Ginger Spice Chai Frozen
Non-Dairy Dessert. Oh man...it's good. I may just have to start buying Rice
Dream fake ice cream. Maybe even give their milk a try. I know, I know...ice cream is a real guilty pleasure but it is one
I can't afford to enduldge in anymore. My cholesterol is too high and my family has too many heart problems to even tempt
fate.
2.
Safeway Signature Soups. I decided to see what all the hype was about and I really was looking forward to some clam chowder.
That stuff is uber creamy and soo good. So, I recommend the Cravin' Crab and Sweet Corn Chowder and the Pacific Coast
Clam Chowder. Hey, it's cold out here.

Enough already!
Okay, if you are one of those people who get offended by hearing the words "Merry Christmas", then get over yourself
right now. Which, truth be told, I don't really know anyone who is offended by it.
On the other hand, can all the whining about "Happy Holidays" please end?! Is it really worth boycotting a store because
they didn't put a sign up that said Merry Christmas? I'm betting that just because there is no sign, plenty of people will
still be saying it.
And Holiday Trees at Target...oh, come on! It's a fucking Christmas tree. Is there some other holiday around this time
of year when a tree gets decorated? I don't think so. Grow a pair Target...
I've been looking at a certain phrase lately. Maybe you have seen it before: "Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion."
A religious holiday display doesn't create a law. It's a display. Yes, this is coming from the agnostic. As long as no
one is legislating Christianity (or any religion), I can handle seeing a display.
Okay, Christians, can we talk a bit? Seriously, I know you guys are feeling attacked by a changing culture, but is it
necessary to keep referring back to the "good ole days" when the Bible was read in school, etc and so forth. Those people
who espouse that time must not have noticed that it was a horrible time for a large population of American citizens. You were
reading the Bible in schools but you were treating black Americans like shit. Is that really the reference you want to use?
And when did this season become about seeing the words Merry Christmas everywhere? Is Christmas about retail? Or is it
about something else? I think
many folks have lost sight of what Jesus is about. They are wasting time crying when they could just be out there doing something.
Happy Holiday folks. Also, have a Merry Christmas. :)

Nada mucho
Another day, another dollar. I have been busy this weekend with mystery shopping. I hate the waiting period to
get paid, but I love to shop, so I guess it just evens out.
I had to give Danny one of his presents early, he was chomping at the bit for it. Of course he knew I was going to get
it for him, otherwise he would have gotten it himself. This game:
Dragon Quest VIII. He's so cute when he gets a new game.
I also sent Tonya her shirt and she opened it. She told me that she looked everywhere for a tag that said don't open
until Christmas and since she didn't find one, she opened it immediately. Such a cheeky monkey! She got an
All Your Base shirt. If you are unfamiliar with this Legendary Internet phenomenom, check it out here:
All Your Base Are Belong to Us. It is a tribute to horrible Japanese to English translation.
Here is the
transcript and a less literal translation. Just scroll down the page a bit.
Oh yeah, I couldn't resist!

Okay, here are my snowy pictures.
First there is Cirel's first snowman...or shall I say Snowpig...don't ask.
Here is a before shot taken on Nov 24:
Here's what it looked like a week later:
And here is that damn hill I have to drive up and down every day:
