Paint kit

Barnacles grow on plastic props just like they grow on your fiberglass hull. We recommend EP-2000 which was Rated “Excellent” by Practical Sailor Magazine After 18 Months in FL Waters. It provides a much harder finish than ablative bottom paint, is environmentally friendly, and lasts for about a year even with extensive motoring.

The kit contains a half pint of EP2000 anti-fouling paint, sandpaper, a paint brush and instructions. Application involves a light sanding and three coats of paint, with 20 - 60 minute drying time between coats.

Prop Pullers

We have prop pullers designed for each of our props:

Standard Prop Puller

This prop puller consists of an aluminum bar with two 1/4x20 bolts that screw into the back of the hub

Standard Prop Puller Instructions

Propellers should never be removed by hammering on the hub (see the Warranty.) Our propellers can be removed using standard marine prop pullers or a puller available from us. Our puller is an aluminum bar with two 1/4x20 bolts that screw into the back of the hub.

1.      Remove all nuts from the shaft.

2.      Assemble the PerfectPitch Prop Puller as shown in the photo.

3.      Holding the aluminum block across the end of the shaft, screw the bolts into the two holes in the bronze insert. Make at least 5 complete turns. Use an open end wrench.

4.      Screw the nuts down snug against the block.

5.      Tighten the nuts, alternating between them, until

the prop comes off the prop shaft.

Extendo Prop Puller

The Extendo Puller consists of a pipe plug tapped for a long pusher bolt. (See picture.)
REMOVING THE PROP: Propellers should never be removed by hammering on the hub (see the Warranty.) 1. Remove all nuts from the propeller shaft. 2. Assemble the PerfectPitch Prop Puller as shown in the photo. 3. Turn the body of the puller into the Extendo as far as possible 4. Screw the long bolt into the body until the prop comes off the shaft.

Shaft Adapters

We have shaft adapters to adapt one inch props to 7/8" shafts and " shafts.

To install, slide the adapter sleeve up the taper until you can insert the key. If the key is “stepped” (narrower on the bottom), the narrower side goes into the shaft keyway. You may have to sand the key itself to get the proper fit. After the key is in place, slide the adapter sleeve back down the taper until the adapter sleeve just touches the key on both sides. The adapter sleeve should fit as supplied (see photo ). Do not cut the plastic sleeve. If the adapter does not fit, call us as you may have a non-SAE tapered shaft.

Extra care is required when tightening the nut(s) be sure not to overtighten the nut when using the adaptor.
