Santa Cruz CDS Chapter Meeting Minutes

August 5, 2009 @ Sandy Howard’s house

  1. Minutes from last meeting were approved. Reminder that you can earn volunteer points by hosting a CDS chapter meeting. Four points go to Sandy H.

  1. Treasurer’s Report was given by Helen Dillworth. As of this moment the bank account has $18,561.98. There are still Coastal Classic expenses to be paid. Checks for the bank account need to be ordered.

  1. Coastal Classic Wrap Up
    1. Thanks You’s – Lorri will send to riders, Mika will send to volunteers and sponsors. Lorri will also send Melinda a thank you for helping with the Chapter Basket, scoring and calling sponsors for the CC.
    2. While returning the rented golf cart, Helen’s truck exploded. Anne came to the rescue and when she was driving it back to Helen’s place, a live mouse was in the cab of the truck and was running around her while she was driving. Very Stimulating!
    3. Amy McCool did not have a contract this year. Suggestion to bump up office fee, so chapter can pay Amy $6.00/per rider and let all riders know that there will be pictures available to preview and buy after the show.
    4. Ideas for next year:

Ø  Additional help needed for clean up at end of show and have a list of what needs to be done so work can be delegated. Maybe have a Monday clean up.

Ø  Sign to point the direction of the Wine Tasting

Ø  New food vendor- Liz A. will look into another vendor. Would like to have hard boiled eggs for the mornings for riders who have to ride early.

Ø  Need more PR to the city. Jill C. will be in charge of putting together a PR group.

Ø  Stabling cards?

Ø

4.    Newsletter Advertising – Classified ads are free for CDS members
