Where are the words I wanted to write;
As
I think of my daddy on this windy night?
Tears now flowing, my face is so still.
I
miss him so much, he has left this world.
I still hear him saying "You're my girl!"
Remembering him drawing water
from the well,
wiping away the sweat from his brow!
It was another day of plowing the field.
Wondering how much
corn it would yield!
Walking behind him as the horse pulled the plow!
My daddy's hands strong on the handles somehow.
I followed and one at a time dropped a kernel.
Spacing it just like he told me to do.
Heeya! he would yell and
the horse it would pull!
As the blades made a v-shape into the ground.
Skipping along singing a song;
Then suddenly,
there we were at the well.
Daddy was tired, this I could tell.
His hazel eyes smiled and his rosey cheeks had a glow.
My daddy loved me, this I know!
