~ Grace's Garden ~
In my garden were many flowers
Some I only sprinkled
Some I tended for hours
They came to me as seed
I could only imagine their beauty
Tender caring was their need
So I just did my duty.
I planted in good soil
I
called them all by name
I
did not really toil
I
loved them all the same.
Then
they broke through the earth
Just
some green I could see...
It
was a great kind of birth~
And
now the seed had been made free~
I
greeted them with a smile
Then
I satisfied their thirst
I
gazed for just a while
Each
one precious as the first!
I
watched them stretch
Spreading
their arms out wide
Eager
for the light
That
would penetrate inside~
Day
after day stronger
And
more beautiful they grew;
As
the sun smiled down upon them
Soon
they'd leave me, this I knew.
As
their roots spread underneath
Their
heads were opened wide
Their
colors and perfume
Had
been growing strong inside!
I
watched them and enjoyed them
For
I knew there was a reason
God
had blessed me with this garden
But
it was only for a season!
