What do you see as you are
looking in the mirror?
Is the reflection vague and faint,
Or is it becoming clearer?
How far back do you allow yourself to gaze?
Do you touch your childhood years?
Or are they hidden in a haze?
If you can reach into those memories,
the innocence should be displayed.
But if you find those years are hidden,
Do not be sad or dismayed!
Are you still gazing into your eyes ~
which are the windows to your soul?
If so, continue past the point
of moving towards your goal.
There you are ~ at last!
You are playing with your friends!
What was that year?
Laughing, frolicking times;
See that they are held dear!

Do you wish to look a little deeper?
There has been no harm done.
Go ahead ~ Your mind's your keeper;
To the next step, please move on.
You see yourself smiling....
What you witnessed was unplanned;
Now walk into another time
Where courage takes you by the hand.
Maybe the curiosity of life
had come knocking at your door
Did you dare to let it in...?
Fearing you'd want to know more?
Now, has the smile left your face?
Is there uncertainity in it's place?
Do you want to look more later?
Take it slow ~ There is no race.
Fill the sink with soothing water.
It's okay to look away
Close your eyes and feel the cooling,
Tomorrow is another day!

Hello mirror!
I am back again.
I had sweet dreams last night and then,
I washed my face just now
Only to see myself take a bow!
I passed a chapter in my life...
Don't leave! It's dim!
Let me open my windows wide,
so that I can once again look in.
That's better!
Now, where did we leave off?
Curiosity was at my door;
"Let me in" it did implore!
The next chapter takes a different course.
Talking to you is talking to me.
I promise not to look away
Because I am compelled to see!
