Angler's of the Year and Big Bass of the Year

  •     To participate a one time fee of $10 will be assessed. This charge is $5 per person and includes both categories.
  •     Big Bass of the Year will be only eligible for winning after payment was received and before the start of a new tournament.
  •      Angler's of Year payments will not be accepted after March 14th, 2009.

(Note: Single competitors fee is $5 only for both categories)

Weightmaster’s Statement

All weights are official after payment on day of the tournament. Any protest of official weight must be contested prior to payouts. If a weight is contested the contestant will be required to submit fish for weigh in. The contested fish will be weighed in twice. If a weight detected of those fish is not in agreement, these fish will be weighed in until two consecutive weights are in agreement. Other contestant’s fish must be protested prior to return to the water. Those fish will follow the same procedure as a contestant protest (twice in agreement). The Weightmaster’s sheet is an official document and can not be contested after payout. Reporting error’s will be checked for accuracy against posting on internet or year to date standings (contestant must make a request within 30 days, for reporting errors only, of said tournament).

Note: If contestant is unsure of a weight recorded on the official ledger. It is the responsibility of the contestant to protest the weight of the fish in question prior to return to the water.

Late Check-In Penalty

Any contestant that arrives late to a weigh-in will be assed a penalty. A penalty of 4oz. per minute will be assessed for fish that are weighed-in late. After 10 minutes a contestant will not be allowed to weigh in their fish. Time will be determined by a Cell Phone or GPS unit. This rule applies to the biggest fish first. This rule does not include contestants that are not able to land because of limited landing space.

This rule is tentative upon approval of consensus of Fishing Misfits’ Members.

Dead Fish Rule

A two ounce penality will be applied to any fish that is dead.  On fish Management waters a four ounce penality will be assessed for each dead fish.

Short Fish Rule

The Fishing Misfit’s will not allow short fish be weighed in. A fish that is short of legal can be brought to weigh in and a courtesy measure will be given on a Golden Rule. Any fish placed inside the weigh in basket and contested that is short will result in a disqualification of the contestant. Two disqualifications for short fish will result in in a permanent ban from fishing in Fishing Misfits.

Courtesy Rule

Please show courtesy on the water. A boat that is using it’s gas engine should not pull up on a boat that is in trolling motor mode. The rule of thumb should be a minimum of approximately 150 yards from that boat. When both boats are in trolling motor mode and working a bank in opposite directions, the boat that is working the bank faster should go to the outside of the slower boat. Please be courteous of the other anglers by signaling your intentions. Do not fish staked out waters until a contestant leaves the area (Approximately 150 yards).

Courtesy on the water shows good sportsmanship and reflects upon what kind of person you are. More importantly safety on the water is crucial and we are all here to have fun.
