This
4th Annual Search for the Rural American Idol by the P.O.I.N.T. organization is aimed to develop and encourage aspiring amateur performers, regardless
of age, color, origin, to achieve their dreams, perform for an audience with a live band, and appreciate the Country Music
entwined with our country living and Rural American culture.
The
Rural American Idol Competition will find the most promising country music talent in Rural America for the year 2006 and will
give these amateur performers a chance to launch their professional music careers.
Contestants are grouped by age range:
Division I – ages 6 to 12;
Division 2 – ages 13 to 25;
Division 3 – ages
26 and over.
The year long competition has two rounds. Each round will have four
preliminaries and one semi-final showdown.
Each of the division winners in the preliminaries advance to the semi-finals.
The top two semi-final contestants and a wild card entry from each division will advance to the finals and have the chance
to win the GRAND PRIZE of $1,000 cash, a trophy and
a recording session.
