CONTEST RULES AND REQUIREMENTS

The Search for The Rural American Idolis designed for competition among AMATEUR solo or duet vocal entertainers at various age group levels, who have not performed on a record listed in the national record charts of Billboard, Radio and Records, or the Gavin Report within twenty-four months preceding participation in the contest.

 

 Entry Procedure

 

Complete a CONTEST ENTRY FORM and mail it with your non-refundable $25 registration fee to the address provided in the "Contact Information". Also enclose your promo package to include your bio, your picture, and a list of songs you know well. You must also submit four (4) songs, to choose from to perform in the preliminary, for appproval with application. 

 

Audition Information  

To facilitate the auditions for the numerous contest applicants from the far distant places, your promo package must include an Audition Tape or CD of your vocal performance. A panel will make assessment of your entry and you will be contacted within 7 days. Submitted audio recording will not be returned.

If you have participated in the “Rural American Idol” Competition in the previous years, or have performed at the “Saturday Nite Shindig Show” at the Cotton Pickin’ Theatre, you may request exemption to submit the Audition tape or CD. Contact ruralamericanmusicrevue@msn.com for exemption approval.

You must select three option dates for the scheduling of your preliminary entry. You will be notified by the Program Coordinator which preliminary date you are scheduled to perform. Once you confirm your show date, it CANNOT BE CHANGED. 

 

In the semi-finals, the top two winners from each division will advance to the Finals.

 

In each division, a wildcard entry to the Finals will be selected by the program committee.

 

Semi-finalists in the first round, who fail to participate on the semi-final date will be eliminated and CANNOT BE RESCHEDULE to compete in the second round. The second place winner during the specific preliminary contest will be a replacement for your spot.

 

In the semi-finals, the top two winners from each division will advance to the Finals.

 

In each division, a wildcard entry to the Finals will be selected by the program committee.

 

RE-ENTERING THE CONTEST

If you do not advance in your preliminary round, you may re-enter the contest. You must submit a new entry form, $25 entry fee, and song selections.

 

TICKETS

For the preliminary and semi-finals, each performer will be entitled to one complimentary ticket for a guest and for himself/herself.

For the Final Competition, no complimentary tickets will be issued.
