1. Contestants contacted to appear on the show, must be ready to perform any two (2) of the four (4) songs submitted
with the entry application.
2. The songs submitted for performance cannot be changed since the band
has put in time to be ready for those songs. If the song is new to the band, you may be required to send a CD of the
song and your recorded vocal rendition.
3. The amount of performance time, per contestant, will be THREE minutes, maximum, per song.
4. All performances must be done in good taste: no music or lyrics that the audience
considers to be offensive may be performed.
5. Each act must be performed live, vocally and/or instrumentally. No pre-recorded
music is allowed.

The Shindig Band of the Cotton
Pickin’ Theatre will be the backup band for all the performers. No live “backup band vocals” are allowed
in the competition segment.
7. No special lighting, props or special effects may be used
8. Contestants may perform their own music and receive extra bonus points from
the judges. Music eligible for bonus points will be defined as any piece of music written or co-written by the contestant.
Any contestant who claims to be using his own music may be disqualified at any level of the contest, at the discretion of
the P.O.I.N.T. panel of judges, if a musical copyright for the music exists that does not name the contestant as author or
co-author.
9. Acceptable documentation to prove ownership of your music shall include either
a certificate of copyright, proof of song registration with BMI, ASCAP, etc., or a notarized copy of the application applying
for the copyright with a signed statement by the contestant as to its status.
10. If you advance to the semi-finals and cancel or withdraw your appearance, you will automatically
be eliminated in the contest and will not be considered for wildcard entry to the finals in 2006.
Performance Policy - FEATURED GUEST PERFORMERS
1. Guest performers, scheduled to appear on the show, will perform four songs. Give the four songs you want
to render and two alternates upon your confirmation of your booking with the Program Coordinator (see Contact Information).

The band needs the songs,
whether new or not, to chart or go over. If any song is new to the band, send a CD of the song and your recorded vocal
rendition.
3. The amount of performance time will be THREE minutes, maximum, per song. Other acts (comedy or storytelling) will
be allocated different time limits.
4. All performances must be done in good taste: no music, lyrics, lines or acts that the audience considers to be offensive
may be performed.

Performance Attire
Proper attire is recommended.
Ladies: Nice Dresses, Sparkles, Pant Suits, etc. NO SHORT, SHORT SKIRTS, OR ULTRA TIGHT PANTS, NO MIDRIFFS SHOWING, NO STRING BACK HALTERS. (Please wear
the proper undergarments. With bright lights on stage, people will be able to see through your clothes if you do not dress
appropriately).
Men: a Jacket & Tie,
Pressed Jeans and Shirt, or Tux are all appropriate.
As an aspiring star, under the glowing lights of the stage,
dress like a STAR !
Do not wear anything that will offend the audience.
Rehearsal Time
Rehearsal time is promptly at 4:00
p.m. You are expected to know your songs prior to rehearsal and the band has your song list. Rehearsal time is limited.
