Contestants are judged by both the audience and a panel of judges. Audience votes account for 30% and tally of judge’s scores account for 70%.

Prizes and Awards

·       Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners in each division.

·       The first place division winners will compete for title of “RURAL AMERICAN IDOL” 2006, $1,000 Cash Grand Prize, a recording session, and a trophy.

·       The title “RURAL AMERICAN IDOL” is won by a first place division winner who has garnered the total highest points.

·       A uniform judging system is used at all levels of competition to ensure fairness.  Contestants are rated in the following five (5) areas with a maximum of 20 points in each category: (1) Marketability, (2) Vocal/Instrumental Ability (3) Showmanship, (4) Stage Presence/Charisma, and (5) Overall Talent
