THIS PROG OPENS A NEW TXT FILE IN THE "R" MODE.WHEN RUN IN WIN 98 THE NEWLY CREATED FILE IS FULL OF TEXT & CHARECTERS
FROM WHERE I DON'T KNOW.THE CONTENTS IS DIFFERENT EACH TIME THE PROG IS RUN.ALL THE PROGRAM DOES IS PLACE "A" IN LINE #50,
ROW 50,WHICH CAN BE VERIFYED USEING THE DOSS EDITOR AND OPENING THE FILE AS A BINARY FILE WITH A LINE WIDTH OF 50. I
FOUND THIS INTERESTING,IN THE DOS EDITOR YOU CAN SEE THE ASC ##'S OF THE UNPRINTABLE CHARECTERS.running the program was the first thing i did after loading "basic" & the prog.the only thing the prog does is open a new file and places an "A" in
line 50, colum 50.this can be verifyed by opening it in the DOS EDITOR as a binary file with a length of line 50.you
can also see the asc number of the characters in this editer.

10 OPEN "r",#1,"XP.TXT",50
20 FIELD#1,50 AS T$
30 GET#1,50
40 MID$(T$,50,1)="A"
50 PUT#1,50
60 CLOSE:END

WIN 98 FILE:
THE FOLLOWING FILE WAS DONE IN WIN 98

when the icons are are not to be seen.
After the program has finished there is two options run again, or
the menu .Large files (12 megs +) can take some time about 5 minutes to
code or decode depending on the speed of the cpu.As the program is running
in the center of the screen will be the name of the file being coded or
decoded,on the upper left of the screen will be a number when it reaches
zero the file in done. Also the time the program started and stoped.
To return to windows 98 pick EXIT on the menu;then clict the X
 to close the window.
If the computer is useing XP, after EXIT;you will be asked
"end batch job ?" type in "Y"

LOOKING AT THE FILES NOW IT LOOK LIKE WIN 98 TAKES WHAT EVER HAPPENS TO BE IN THE MEMORY LOCATIONS THAT WAS ALLOTED
FOR THE NEW FILE AND ,NOT CHANGED BY THE PROG,PUTS THEM IN THE NEW FILE.MAYBE SOMEONE IN THE FORUM MAY KNOW.(IF THEY
CARE).WHAT EVER IT IS XP DOES'T DO IT.MAYBE THIS IS WHAT MS CALLES "SIDE AFFECTS".an interesting thing is the text in the
top of the file is from a "readme.txt" file on the same disk, which was not read by me.if a large file is made there
is a lot of stuff to see, which may make sense to one of the comp scientist's

after pasting the above file in here there was a message that some of the charecters were not supported and would be deleted.there for the above file is not a true copy of the file.if any one wants to try this, the only way
that i know is to use the dos editer in binary mode.
