ver 3.11 & ver 3.23 directories differences

after many trys and type"o"s,not mention the hail marry's i realized the dirrectory name and the file name of the target was the same in ver 3.23.i guess every body but me knows this, and was a giant leap forward in programing.















 

below is the listing of the files in bas ver3.11 directory

the orignal name of the dir was "basic~1",i changed it to

"bas3.11"

i found the dos cmd line to load the 3.23,but it doesn't

make sense to me(so whats new) but it works.

at the dos prompt"\gwbasic.exe\gwbasic.exe"

 
















i still can't seem to get the cmd line to set the "s" switches to work.as you know for some reason in ver 3.11 the default "s" is higher then the 128 as would be expected(the highest i've used is about 500).i guess this is some sort of improvment in ver 3.23.aside from the fact that ver 3.23 is only about 16 years old and ver 3.11 is about 20 years old is the newer ver better then the older?there seems to be a different file system between the two but i suppose it's tranparent to the user.
