My Testimony

Here's the story of how God led me to NYC...

I received the Lord as my Savior when I was five years old.  I had grown up in church and knew the Bible stories and what Christ had done for me.  Therefore, I wanted to ask Jesus in my heart, but I am not sure I really knew what that meant at such a young age.  I soon would find out how great and amazing God is.
Throughout high school I struggled to truly believe that God had His best for me and even to this day I sometimes feel that.  But my faith is based on knowing that God has His best for me, Hebrews 11:1 says, "What is faith?  It is the confident assurance (expecting the best) that what we hope for is going to happen.  It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see."  I sometimes wish that God would show me the whole picture now but I know in my heart deep down that if I would have known in high school that I would be a missionary in New York City I probably would have pulled a Jonah.  But in God's perfect time, just as I was preparing to graduate from Cornerstone University God put a magazine advertisement in front of my face tempting me with a summer in New York.  Little did I know that that summer would turn into a wonderful life changing event in my life.  I went to New York for a summer but God had a longer plan in mind.  That summer was a seed and I wanted that seed to continue to grow in my life.  So nine months after that summer I took the plunge and commited my life fully to God to serve Him in New York City.  I am so excited to see my faith increasing day after day.  And I am continually learning that I must daily submit to God and follow His will.
I am glad God is so patient!  I would have given up on me a long time ago but God continues to prod and move me forward.  Encouraging me along the way.
