Prayer and Praises

Lift up in Prayer 

  • Pray for LaShonda, a 13 yr. old girl, who was adopted last fall by her
    foster mother.  She is a 70 yr. old woman and has found she is unable to
    handle a young teen with many problems in her life stemming from past
    abuses she has suffered.  Pray for wisdom and direction for me as I
    meet with LaShonda and the adoptive mother on Thursday5/10. Pray that God would direct in finding solutions for this young girl's troubled life.

  • Pray for me as I travel to an urban ministry conference in Los Angeles May 15-20.  Pray that I will gain useful knowledge for the ministry and also have a time of rest.
  • Pray for Angie and her daughter Crystal.  Crystal is pregnant and unmarried. Angie is open to the idea of adoption for the baby.  Pray that Crystal also will be willing to look into putting the baby up for adoption and will not abort the baby.
  • Pray for Ciara, a ten year old girl who has attended the Bronx River Bible club. Her family had to move out of their apartment. The are now living in a shelter near Chinatown. Her mother has been using crack cocaine.
  • Pray for faithful and consistent help for the Bible clubs.  The harvest truly is great!  The Bronx River and Brooklyn Bible clubs often have 30+ children in attendance - more than I am able to handle or should handle alone.
  • Pray for all of the girls that I am mentoring that God would give them the self control to keep from fighting in school.
  • Pray for the Bible study I am having with Tyler & Lay Lay on Saturday's.  Pray that they will take to heart the teaching from God's Word. 
  • Pray for Zinelle, one of the mom's from Brooklyn.  Pray as we seek to share Jesus with this woman. 
  • Continue to pray for Angie, the mother whose handicapped teenage son died this fall.    Pray for God's comfort for her
  • Continue to pray for the Bible study with Priscilla and Soraya.
  • Pray that I will lean fully on God's strength and wisdom for the many doors God is opening for ministry opportunities.
  • Pray for Tonisia.  She is in her sophmore year at Cedarville University.
  • Pray for the kid's Bible clubs that meet at the Manhattan daycare center on Mondays,  Bronx River Community Center on Wednesdays , East End Baptist Church on Thursdays, and in Coney Island on Fridays.

 

Praises
  • Praise God for bringing me into contact with Allison and Shamea again.  These were two of the first girls I mentored. 
  • Praise God for the youth ministry conference I was able to attend at ABWE headquarters.  I received good information and also had a restful few days.
  • Praise God for the Urban Ministry conference I was able to attend.  The seminar I taught was well attended.
  • Praise God for His provision of a new vehicle!  Thank God also for the safety he gave while still driving my old car.  It lasted until  the night before I flew to OH to pick up the replacement vehicle. God also gave safety as I drove the 10 hours back to NYC from OH.   
  • Praise God for the wonderful meeting I had at Cedar Heights Baptist Church in Cedar Falls IA. It was such a blessing to see old friends and make new ones.
