'Dear family and friends,
I am sorry I have not written for awhile but it has been very hectic.
The Ventura County
Star did a front page article on Thursday and there
have been many tips. At this time the most recent reliable tip was
for
tuesday evening. As I am writing this, a local volunteer for the
homeless, who spoke with Mike on Tuesday is making
his rounds with the
hope of finding him again. We have extended our stay.
What is most encouraging is that Mike appears to be getting his memory
back and will hopefully be able to contact
us himself. We are also
grateful for the media support and hope to get more to produce more leads.
Mike's Dad and I are doing ok. The days are long and exhausting but we
are getting good rest and eating well. While
in the local mall
following up on a lead we spotted a kiosk for accupressure back
massage. We took one look and were
both in the chairs in 2 seconds. We left in much better condition.
I appreciate all your good wishes, prayers and kind words. I pray they
will bring Mike home to us soon.'
Update on a tip to the Vermont police about Michael. Please put the word
out to anyone in the Ventura, CA area to be on the lookout for Michael.
Michael remains illusive. We remain hopeful. The Ventura community has
been very gracious and we have many good samaritan stories to warm our hearts. Mike's Dad has purchased a used bike and is
getting around the town quite well. I am sticking to foot and auto.
The local paper has agreed to do a story. The reporter will be going
with us tomorrow as we search for Michael. One good heart got us here and all we need are one or two more to get us closer.
We are convinced that the person reported as being Michael is indeed him. He was here last Friday for sure. He is
alive and seemed in reasonably good physical condition. It appears he has suffered some amnesia that is just starting to clear.
Hopefully he will soon remember our phone number or someone will see him and call. As of today, we have had no new leads but
I am sure the news article will help.
