Concert Tuning and Regulating

Because the requirements artists place on performance instruments are more critical, concert pianos have service needs beyond those of the average piano.  Our technicians have trained with major piano manufacturers at seminars and are ready to provide the exacting service that concert artists demand.

A few of the institutions and performers that we have had the privilege to service include:  Thelonius Monk Jazz Institute, Dave Brubeck Institute of Jazz, Grammy Nominated Artist David Lanz, The Oregon Symphony, Jack Clark (Carnegie Hall Performer), the late Anthony Burger (Carnegie Hall, pianist for the Bill Gaither Gospel Trio and the Piano Music on Delta Airlines theme song), Lamp Music Group, Mountaintop Records, Gospel Heritage Records, Gospel Music Legend Evie, Bobby Watson concerts (Jazz Saxophonist). Others we have serviced include nationally recognized local jazz artists Michael Allen Harrison and Dave Frishberg. We have tuned the piano that they used in the film “Mr. Holland’s Opus”.

AAA Piano Service currently does tuning, repairing and maintenance on pianos owned by the Portland and Beaverton Public School Districts, providing quality service for our children’s music education.

David served as the piano technician for the Bibb County Board of Education servicing the public schools (in Macon Georgia), for Bill Hardin Music Company in both Macon and Warner Robbins, Georgia, and for Southern Keyboards (Atlanta, Georgia) covering all of central and south Georgia.

He is an independent contractor and does warrantee work and tunings for Sherman Clay (formerly Moe’s Pianos, Portland’s Steinway dealer, Classic Pianos, who carry the Yamaha, Mason Hamlin and Petrof brands and Michelle’s Pianos, the dealer for fine European pianos such as Bosendorfer and Schimmel.

The most famous piano David has ever worked with was “The Bosendorfer Emperor”, a $600,000.00 piano made for the Emperor of Japan in 1826 with solid gold statues and inlay. It is currently owned by the Yoshida family (The family is known for their famous Yoshida’s sauces).
