Mass Bay College
The former site of Elizabeth
Seaton High School and the Academy of the Assumption
(built in 1893), a parochial girls’ school, the Town made a short-sighted error when it turned down the opportunity to purchase the school and its land in the early 70’s. The Commonwealth subsequently bought the site and opened the doors in 1973 to Massachusetts Bay Community College, part of the state’s 2-year community college system.
