Wellesley College
A just completed capital
campaign has resulted in major building/renovation on
the campus, including its gymnasium and Alumni Hall (home to our cotillions). The College has spent close to $30 Million on a major environmental remediation of land abutting Lake Waban, the site of the former Henry Woods Paint Shop which produced lead-based paints. Playing fields, open marsh land, and a long boardwalk through the marshland have all resulted from the remediation. The 2 mile walk around Lake Waban is well worth the time.
