Last night I was touched by an Angel. Yes, it's true and not in the actual but more
in the metaphorical. Last night at Gabriel's birthday party as he hobbled around on crutches a family friend's daughter
got my attention and asked if she could work with "Angels" again this year. Now I must tell you that I was taken back
as I had not mentioned our annual project recently as we have been going through some difficult financial times, however I
wanted to hear her out and so I did. My heart was overflowing with joy as Brooke explained that she didn't want the
mission to go to the wayside at all and she was willing to step up and take the project to the school superintendent
on Monday to try to recruit storage space and student recruits for our holiday mission. I didn't want her to pin
her hopes on the school alone so between her family and ours a means was actually devised so that no matter what our
mission will continue this year. I cannot thank Brooke enough for becoming not only a part of our mission but also a
spokesperson for that which she so wholeheartedly believes in. Oh, and Brooke, she's 13 so remember even the smallest
hands can always help.
Gabriel turns 14 this year on the 15th. What a blessing he has been to me and so many others
that have known us. I couldn't be happier as a mother or as a human being to have known him. He has metamorphosized
throughout the years growing into an individual that I couldn't imagine. Thank you all for being a part of our lives
and being such a blessing.
