ALL ABOUT
OUR ANGELS
Hi my name is Gabriel Bleu~ and I began this charity when I was in 2nd grade.
I felt I had to start a project like this when I read a "Weekly Reader" in school and learned
about the "orphans" in Chechnya
and Sarajevo.
I came home and told my mom to pack up my toys we had to send them to the orphans because some of them didn't even have one
doll or truck or anything. Of course she didn't but what she did do was let me pull half of my toys out and gift them
to needy families right here in Pittsburgh. Since 2001 we have gifted 215 children items that they really have truly needed and even
a few, with what they wanted including bedding, clothing, toys, outerwear, bikes, and food. This year is our biggest
Christmas yet, with 32 children, however we also help by placing books and toys at different doctor's offices throughout Allegheny
County that are ability and age appropriate for all children. We also always keep a few things in reserve in case
someone contacts us in dire straits for the holidays. Nominations are taken every year until
November 11th and families are announced on my (Gabe's) Birthday the 15th of November.
Below are some of the things that have happened in our last 6 years with Angels on a Mission:
- Our first year we provided gifts of toys and clothing to a family located in our neighborhood of Brighton
Heights who had lost everything during a fire and was living with their family.
- Our second year we got involved with the Glew Family and sponsored "Homeland's Helping Hands" which
sent snacks and toiletries to soldier's overseas to keep their spirits up when they were so far away from home. We also
started a letter campaign at my school to send pictures and letters to the Marines.
- Our third year we helped a family in our new neighborhood in Crafton after they lost everything on
their first two floors to a fire. They were so happy to have the little bit we gave them.
- Our fourth year we worked really hard and created "Money For Many". Along with my school and
"The Home Depot"
we raised $1,200.00 that we donated it to the "Red Cross" for hurricane victims... and just when we thought the year was over
we met Miss Cathy and her family who are hurricane vicitims and got moved to Pittsburgh. In 2005 at Christmas we provided over 70 gifts to her 7 grandchildren.
- Summer of 2006 we celebrated Christmas in July with the DiBitetto Family and Megan got a new bike
from Angels.
- Christmas
2006 we are sponsoring 23 children throughout the Pittsburgh area.
- Easter Basket Buddies provides for 100 Children in Shelters from Domestic Abuse 2006.
- Holiday Happenings and the Angel Brigade delivered to 32 children from Beaver Valley to Washington PA Christmas 2007
- Easter Basket Buddies provided for 250 Children in Shelters from Domestic Abuse 2007.
- Other projects I have been involved with are:
- Collections through Student Government at my school to help those in need through Salvation Army.
- Volunteering at my local Library for the Book & Bake Sale to build the new Children's Wing.
- Passing out toys at the Variety Club Christmas

A Note From My Mom
Thank you for viewing the Angels On A Mission Website...
I would like to leave you with a few words from a mother who truly understands and cherishes the
blessings that she has... My name is Anastasia and I am Gabe's mom.
Gabriel was truly a blessing the day that he was born and has proven a miracle every day after that.
With multiple disabilities, Gabriel has traveled far beyond my expectations as a parent and dazzled me at every corner from
the simplest act as "unconditonal hugs" to the most amazing as "performing on-stage in a concert". You see, Gabriel
was diagnosed as Autistic as a young child and later as having "Asperger's Syndrome" which is simply a kinder and gentler
way of saying "Autism". With the help of so many and their knowledge I have learned to be as pro-active as possible
with my son and not allow him to be held back because of his disability. As such, we have been blessed profusely with
others who will listen to our situation and include Gabe in as much as he is possibly able to undertake. Along with
his Autism, Gabriel is faced with the challenges of other disabilities and even though it's difficult at times for him to
not be like one of the other fellas, he still shines through and knows that everyone is different... and difference is Good.
I ask when you read this website and consider his mission, this is not one that I put upon him, nor
is it a effort to start a resume young for that great college application, this is simply Gabriel being moved by the spirit
to help another child and their family. A pure and innocent action that he began at the tender age of 7. I ask
that you think for a moment and if you can help, please do... if you need help, please let us know... and if all is well within
your world... then pass along the blessings. Become an angel today~
