Jesus Is The Reason For The Season 2008
Well it’s that time of the year again. A time for giving versus receiving. A time when we remember
how important goodwill truly is.
It is with great joy that we are announcing a request for
nominations this year. Our apologies for our lateness, unfortunately our family
is going through some difficult fiancial times and as such we are unable to collect and deliver far and wide. Instead we are accepting donations at our Crafton location and will be distributing from that same location.
Currently we are collecting gently used and new items for
children and families in need. Your donations will help reach families throughout
the Pittsburgh
and surrounding areas. As we are limited in our time and stores this year we are calling
for nominations now and we are also teaming along with an international organization that provides a breath of fresh
air in the form of nebulizers for children in South American countries that may not have as much access to durable medical
supplies .
We ask that when you are making a donation that you please remember that these
items are coming directly from you and going to the recipient. Our team will
wrap items as gifts approximately 10 days before the holiday. Donations
can be made by dropping to our master site or by requesting a pick up so that we are able to collect as much from a location
as possible. If you would be interested in establishing a pick up site at a location
in your community, please contact us via email to let us know, this would be a great help to our mission. Please make
sure that any donations of clothing have been laundered and sorted by size and if possible bundled together in boy or girl
bundles and sizes. Want to do more?
Spread the word this holiday season by sending out this note to your address book and collecting from friends and family
and making a bulk drop to our home in Crafton, Pennsylvania.
Another mission that we have taken on this year is collecting
gently used Nebulizers. These are a breathing apparatus that is commonly used
for children who suffer from asthma, respiratory distress, allergies, etc…
In teaming with Global Links we have found a dire need for these items in third world South American countries where
durable medical goods may not be available in every village. In providing one
Nebulizer to a village you are in fact reducing the time that a child may be deprived of a life saving breathing treatment. Please if you have a gently used Nebulizer that your family is not currently using,
consider donating.
Finally we ask that you understand at this time how hard
of a decision it was to have to reduce our efforts in light of the current economic situation that has befallen our nation. It is with great sorrow that we could not continue on our path as we had hoped, however
it is with great faith that we continue and know that “Even A Miracle Needs A Hand”. We are sending a plea out with
this year's newsletter that if you are aware of an organization that would be able to help us with establishing our Non-Profit
status please pass our name along. If you yourself are able to help in that process we would be forever grateful.
Last year the Angel Brigade was able to reach out and help
32 children from 9 different families throughout Pittsburgh
and the surrounding areas. Although last year was a busy one, we have great hopes
for next year in providing not only at Christmas for families in need, but also throughout the year. It is our goal to maintain the Basket Buddies program which gifted 250 Easter Baskets to children
in protective shelters; Christmas In July which will provide family with an accessible/assistive opportunity to
help maintain or improve their quality of life. If you would be interested in helping our mission, or providing
a donation as an angel, or you need additional information, please contact us directly through e-mail at:
angelsonamission@verizon.net or visit our website at www.angelsonamission.org
I ask you to look into your hearts during this time and consider
what was given for us and what we are able to give for another… give selflessly for there is no greater gift than one
that is given without thought of return. I ask not that you to take away from yourselves or your families this Christmas Season…
I ask that you stop for just a moment and think of a way you can provide for another… be it so small as a prayer in
your service…. Forget them not during this season… when we were not forgotten.
Contact us directly angelsonamission@verizon.net to donate a new or gently used item or
a monetary gift.
Thanks for your help always and Thanks for being an Angel~
