WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK OUT ALL THE LINKS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE.
I WILL BEAT ANYONES QUOTED PRICE FOR SHARPENING WITHIN REASON.
I OFFER THE BEST KNIFE SHARPENING SERVICE AVAILABLE USING PAPER WHEELS. I HAVE OVER 34 YEARS OF SHARPENING  EXPERIENCE, 17 YEARS USING THE PAPER WHEELS. I SPECIALIZE IN CONVEX AND RECURVE EDGES. I CAN TOUCH UP SERRATIONS IF THEY ARENT WASTED. I LET MY WORK SPEAK FOR ME. HERE IS  A VIDEO OF A KNIFE I MADE SLICING NEWSPAPER.
(due to the differences in steel, not all knives sharpen up the same or hold a good edge. a higher quality steel will take and hold a better edge) DONT SETTLE FOR AN AMATURE USING DANGEROUS HOME MADE CARDBOARD WHEELS THAT DONT WORK AND THAT CAN CATCH AND DAMAGE YOUR KNIFE. THIS PERSON CALLS HIS CONTRAPTION A "POWER STROP" THAT DOES NOTHING TO AN EDGE. I HAVE SEEN KNIVES SHARPENED BY HIS CONTRAPTION AND I HAD TO RESHARPEN THE KNIVES.

My favorite thing to read on Bladeforums is the plank log. its all the moron trolls or spammers that have been banned. a funny definition of a spammer by a spammer before being banned "that is illegal in the USA now and I do not spam" (its a sticky thread at the very top of the page at this link http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=679

Hello. This is my hobby, making hunting and skinning knives. I taught myself how to make them years ago  I'm trying out different handle designs (some by accident) and variations in blade shape.

The following pages have pictures of knives that I have made. This one below was made for a friend and is one of a kind. it has a 6 1/8" blade with a 5" mule deer antler handle. This season he cleaned 5 deer with it so far for his friends. (I'm out of muledeer antler, sorry, i do have "some" elk for larger knives only.)

If you are interested in a knife, send me an email through the link at the bottom of this page

(PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE DECIDING TO GET ONE OF MY KNIVES)

I MAKE ALL OF MY KNIVES FROM START TO FINISH
I DO NOT USE KIT KNIVES AND SELL THEM AS CUSTOM MADE

I make whatever design that I have in my head at the time i'm cutting out a blade. I prefer to make slab handle knives which have neoprene rubber handles like one(s) on the following page(s). I make my knives out of (cultivator discs) 1075 steel (this steel "will rust" and due to the blade not being heat treate all over, it will scratch easily which is normal) which start out at 3/16" thick.

My knives are meant to do one thing, skin wild game. When using one of my knives the way it was meant to be, it will last a lifetime. Its not a prybar, screwdriver, hatchet, scraper, chisel, or throwing knife. Cutting through anything with concrete or any hard surface as a backing will dull ANY blade plus decrease its life (i can tell if a blade has been used this way too). Sticking it on a benchtop grinder to sharpen it will ruin the blade. Beating on the back of the blade to chop through anything is also no no and you risk damaging the edge which i wont be responsible for. My knives are not dishwasher safe. Damage done to one of my blades by doing any of these things and sorry about your luck, I wont fix or replace it or guarantee it, if it can be fixed and I do, it wont be free and no guarantees on how it will look when its done.

Any "origional owner" that has one of my knives that gets dull after hunting season, ship it INSURED prepaid return shipping or bring it to me and i'll sharpen it free of charge as long as i'm still alive and able. Because of the way I heat treat the blade, ( I test the edge with a file so hand sharpening will turn into a long chore if not being impossible) I suggest having me sharpen it since it only takes me a few minutes.

Each knife is dangerously razor sharp, I have the scars to prove it. (I will not be responsible for anyone getting cut by one of my knives or one I have sharpened) I use the razor sharp wheels, one set is 16 years old. I will sharpen any other brand knife for a price. (except pakistan stainless steel knives) I will sharpen scissors and knives free if they are used by local sheriff, police, fire or rescue squad members. (All Ohio State Troopers included)

I now have some large Elk antler for handles. The knives that will have a piece of Elk wont be small. Contact me if you have a piece of antler or exotic wood that you want to use. Antlers "must not" have a brow tine. If it doesnt look like the cover knife handle, it wont work. It must have a fairly straight section, at least 4" for the tang. If I dont like the looks of an antler or any other material, I wont put it on. On customer designed blades, i reserve the right to make changes in the design if it poses problems in making the blade or for cosmetic reasons. (NO EXCEPTIONS) NO GUARANTEES ON NATURAL HANDLE MATERIALS DUE TO SEPERATION OR CRACKING.
