Sculpting Sound

In 2002 I started investigating what I call "Sculpting Sounds".  Recording ambient sounds (a fondness for frog and bird calls) and then running them through different sound processors on the computer to see what neat changes would result.  Along with the ambient sounds I use software that allows me to input a composition note by note, pick the instrument (or softsynth sound) and then mix the segments into a final composition (using Sony's Acid Pro).  When I discovered circuit bending soon after I added the sounds collected from the bent devices to the mix.  I term the results "Sculpted Sound" to distinguish them from the works of a trained musician (in respect of their training and experience) .
