March 3, 2008

I came home from work today and was not sure what to do with myself.  Ellie was asleep and the girls were outside playing.  Ellie's party is done, vacation is over and the laundry is done, biggest looser is over, I should be the winner.  So there was no need to plan a party, pack a suitcase or go jogging for an hour.  The sun is still out and here I am in front of  the computer.  I got caught up on my emails finally.  I argued with my husband about the pictures from vacation.  He says he has too keep them on his computer beacuse I will screw up and delete them.  He does not trust me I guess but the only person that has ever deleted pictures is him (Camillas first day of Kindergarten).  Go figure.

Airzona was a blast!  I am not sure if we have ever done so much up there before.  It was great fun to laugh and play.  Everyone loved vacation except Ellie.  She hated it.  She only wanted mommy.  There was a talent show, a birthday party luau, a baby shower, capture the flag nerf gun style, archery, hide and seek flags, an obstacle course on quads (grandpa even made whopdie doos), movies, scrappin cards, board games, Canasta, Yatzee, playdough, bubbles, parachute, water paint, beading, three hot yummy meals a day, and most of all DIRT!!!!!
Hubby said he wanted to go home just so he did not have rocks in his nose anymore.  The girls got so dirty everyday and they loved it.  Where else can you get away with being that dirty?  The kids moved so many rocks around this trip I am suprised we had any left.  They threw them all into the fire pit.  Thank You Grandma and Grandpa for the spectaular vacation!  I can't wait until I get to go again!

As for the Biggest Looser... I asked one of the other girls to keep the money and I kept track of the weight numbers.  So today I said to her that the competition was over tomorrow and she got all defensive and weird.  She said well how are we going to do this?  The scale is not working right.  How are we all going to weigh in.  By the way I am the only one that has lost any weight.  I lost 15 pounds.  Everyone else is about 5 pounds.  I think she spent the money and does not have it to give it to me tomorrow and is making excuses.  I don't know what will happen but in the very least I just want my $50 back.  I guess I asked the wrong person to keep the money.

Hopefully tomorrow Hubby will help me with adding some pictures.

I had three large paragraphs up her and Ellie just deleted them.  I was trying to chang the color and she hit the space bar.  AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I have to talk about our truck now... Chris would not like me telling this but too bad.
So... the truck has been falling apart for a while now, but "it runs GREAT" Chris says.  First the heater went out, then the air conditioner  went on the fritz and can't be run when it's hot out or the engine will over heat.  Next a leak started in the power steering fluid line.  About 3 months ago the drivers side window stopped going up (it has to be forced or pulled up while pushing the button).  2 weeks later the drivers side door handle broke off.  So for then we were playing Dukes of Hazard with a window that would not go up unless forced or pulled while pushing the button with the battery or car on.  This may I remind you is all going on  in the middle of January and February with no heater, but we could use the air conditioner since it was'nt hot out (just freezing cold).  One day I pulled into the driveway after work and I was tired, I reached down to open the door, crap no handle, so I began honking the horn.  I was just too tired to deal with that truck and I was stuck in there.  Chris comes out smiles and waves and motions for me to stay in the truck and goes back in the house laughing.  Thank goodness Camilla and Victoria came to my rescue and let me out.  A few days later the whole door panel came off and a new door hadle was installed.  Yeah!  However the door panel is still off because the window still needs to be fixed.  So in the morning on the way to work I put on three layers with mittens to get to work in that unheated, missing door panel, broken window, no defroster, vibrating rotors, grinding steering, freezing cold pile of a truck.  Right now the truck and I are not friends, but "it runs GREAT"!!!!!!! as Chris would say.  If only money and time were endless.

Tag! I'm it!

Friday January 4, 2008
The holidays come and go so fast.  We had such a fun and busy Christmas.  The highlight was playing dodge ball on Christmas Eve at the church with all my brothers and sisters.  Chris had to work so he missed it, that was tough because Chris is so much fun.  I was so sore, but it was worth it.  I was not the best at it, but I gave it my all and had a blast.  Santa was a hoot!  Marc was such a good sport to help us with that.  He was so funny because the hair was so bushy he could hardly see.  The kids all sat on his lap, Ellie and Alex cried.  The Sorensens and the Andersens were here for 7 days and 5 days but it went by so fast.  I realize how much I miss them when they come.  We have so much fun together as a famliy.  Grandma and Grandpa gave us so many really nice gifts, they still spoil us.  The girls got everything they asked for and more.  Victoria opened her Polly Pocket first and she did not want to open anything else,  It was funny.  Camilla said her bike was too big for her and she would ride it next year.  Two days later she was riding it without help.  Ellie was not really interested in opening presents she just wanted her sisters toys.  I was excited to see all three seasons of The Office ( I did not ask for this) and I have had so much fun watching them.  I am so excited I got all new bedding too (Chris might have to sleep on the couch j.k.).  Chris picked out one of his presents so he got exactly what he wanted and a few other things too.  We are so blessed in so many ways.

Not much happend for New Year's.  Chris and I worked all the way through it.  We are happy for a new year and are hoping for more good times.

Today was the 8 HOUR SALE!  It was busy I think people are preparing for the storm too.  I guess it is suppossed to be pretty bad.  We had an Email from the Governor in the store email on how to prepare for an emergency.  I think the news is making a big deal out of it too.  A woman came in the store about 7 am this morning and shopped all day.  She had all of her belongings with her in her shopping cart too.  She talked to herself a lot.  When she finally came through the check out at about 12 pm she had a lot of items and only had $30.00.  It took 15 minuets to complete her transaction beacuse she was having the checker take off one top ramen at a time.  She was crazy.  A half hour later I went to the bathroom and she was in the bigger stall talking to herself and just hanging out.  2 hours later a bagger tells me there is a woman in the bathroom with her shopping cart.  I could not believe she was still in there.  The store director told me to tell her to get out or we were calling the police.  I took one of the floor guys with me but when I got back there the store director was in that hallway looking for something.  I opened the door and said  "Maam its time to go, you need to get out of the bathroom".  She said I need a few more minuets".  I said "no, now".  She said "but I'm constipated".  I demanded that she leave again she said "ok but, I need to wipe and pull up my pants".  Finally she came out after packing up her home she made for herself in there and pushed her cart very forcefully she tried to turn a few times not in the direction of the door, but she saw we were following her so she finally went out the door saying "you can't do this to me, I am a customer".  It was 2:20 pm.   How nice for her to spend her day in a warm store with her very own bathroom.  That was funny!  It's never boring at work.  There is always something to keep it interesting.

Camilla won the Citizenship award at school yesterday.

1.  The school sent home a letter telling us that she would be receiving an award so we could be prepared.
2.  I had her clothes all set out and ready to go the night before.
3.  I showed her where they were and told her they were for school in the morning.
4.  I even called Chris at work and told him about the the pretty sweater and jeans I set out.

I came home from work and she was wearing high water jeans with dark red and purple flowers on the front and a light pink tee shirt with stains and a monkey on the front.  To match her high water jeans she had on a navy blue sock and a white sock.  (That's right, two different socks that were very visible.)  Daddy said "I thought that was what you told her to put on".  Can you all feel my frustration?  She stood up on the stage and shook the principals hand with a monkey on her shirt and unmatching sock and pants that were too short.  Do you think the principal noticed or all of the other parents?  How embarassing.  I just have to take a deep breath and move on to tomorrow, beacuse you never know what tomorrow will bring.

I am finally finished shopping for Christmas today.  I have started to wrap some.  What a big job!  I have been baking cookies for a few days so I have something to give everyone at work even though some of them really drive me crazy.  It's fun to give and this way it did not cost very much money to make someones day a little better.

I can't wait until the Christmas fun begins.  I am going to be off 5 days over Christmas.  It has been a while since I have been lucky enough to have that much time off over Christmas.  The store is closed on Christmas day but open till 11 pm on Christmas Eve.  I hope Chris gets it off.  I can't wait until all arrive from Utah and we get to laugh, bake, eat, throw balls at each other, give, receive, sing, gossip, tease, play and everything in between.

I wish all of you have a wonderful Christmas and an exciting New Year!  I hope you all get what you asked for for Christmas.  I know a few people around here will be.

Thanksgiving, November 22, 2007

I cant believe another year is gone.  Ellie is crawling really well and today she had her first taste of pancake.  She loved it.  She even rubbed it in her hair.

We have a few customers at my store that we have named.  One is Mr. Naked, the other is Mr. Poo Poo.  Mr. Naked wears only his little shorts and nothing else.  He is a very large hairy man with big bug eyes.  He was in a week ago asking the girls in the health care dept. where the cream is because when he scratches himself he gets goop under his fingernails.  A week later he came in and showed all the checkers his staff infection on his belly.  He is so disgusting.  He asked for some paper to write a letter to his lawyer.  When the store director gave it to him Mr. Naked said the paper was dirty and wanted some better paper.  My boss told him to go buy it on aisle 6 or take the FREE paper as is.  Mr. Poo Poo abuses our restroom too much.  I think his name describes him very well.  He is metally handicapped and seems to prefer our restroom over his.  We have had to kick him out permanently.

I wanted to work today to earn triple time pay.  I asked my boss and he said "that's fine with me, but you're not going to sit in here all day."  (Reffering to my closet of an office)  I am wondering it that is his true opinion of me.  I hope not.  I ended up not working, there were other girls with more senority that wanted to work.  I am off three days this week. Yeah!

My christmas wish list:
A clean home every day
No more mail
To feel better about saying "no"
MONEY!
Personal Trainer
No more dishes
An Organized Garage

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Sunday November 4, 2007

I am sorry to all of those who keep checking and I have nothing new on here.  I have been terribly busy.  The Halloween party was a week preparation ordeal.  It was fun and the kids had a wonderful time.  It seems like the days are all a blur because they all seem the same.  There is so much to do all the time with 3 little girls, a FT job, and a home to keep clean.

I recieved a SPECIAL TREAT yesterday.  Mom kept Camilla and Victoria for a sleepover.  I was off today so I could stay up a little later last night and have a night to myself.  Yesterday after work the girls and I cleaned up the whole house.  We packed their suitcase and had dinner with grandma.  I headded to Target and bought two chick flicks.  I got home to a clean house (what a treat) and put Ellie to bed and watched my movies all by myself.  No one hung on me or cried or whined or told me my movies were so unrealistic.  It was the best TREAT ever!
Thank You GRANDMA!!!!!

Last Sunday when I got home from work Camilla came to me and started to cry.  She said "guess what Mommy?"

"What?"

Tears streaming down and crying she said "Daddy didn't take me to school today."

I giggled and told her "it's Sunday and there is no school on Sunday's."

She immediately perked up and said with a giggle "oh, ok".

I hope she still loves school that much when she is in High School.

I was not the biggest looser this week, last week I was.  I ate too much junk over Halloween week.  I stayed the same.  Hopefully next week I will be down a lot.  One of the girls gained 2 1/2 pounds.  Oops.  It's hard to find the time to exercise.  Eating is also a problem, I love cookies and chocolate.

Victoria's last day of Pre school was on Thursday.  The program got better towards the end so maybe I was a little hasty in taking her out.  Oh well, I will sign her up again after Christmas maybe.  I can't believe it will be Christmas already!

Halloween Trivia:
What was the most popular candy in 2004?
A. Snickers  B. Candy Corn C. M&M's D. Tootsie Rolls

Answer B (Yuck, who really craves candy corn)

We threw it into pumpkins tied around Camilla and Spencers waist this year for a game.  It was funny!  Maybe thats why so much of it sells, to throw it.

Sunday October 14, 2007

Today Ellie is 7 months.  I am amazed at how fast it has gone.  It was just yesterday that she was a rolly, wobbly, sleepy newborn.  She is still rolly and wobbly, but not a neborn.  She rolls over and over, from her back to her stomach and back again.  She scoots herself around a bit too.  She scooted about 4 feet the other day.  She gets more shots tomorrow.  BOOOO!

I requested a refund for Victoria's pre-school.  Thurday is Victorias show and tell day and I forgot to bring something, so I thought I will just wait and help her talk about her pony ride at the fair last weekend.  We praticed on the way to school.  Mrs. Hernandez called on all of the children even the one boy who was supposed to share on Tuesday and never called on Victoria.  I had told her I was going to help because we forgot to bring an item, so she knew.  I got up an walked out sort of abruptly.  I asked for a refund form from the city desk in the foyer and Mrs. Hernandez comes out while I am filling it out.  She says to me I'm sorry Victoria can share when we get back from snack the children were getting antsy(sp?).  I said don't worry about it, it was my fault for forgetting to bring something.  She knew exactly what she was doing, I guess she thought Victoria's show and tell was not that important because we did not bring an item.  I'm done with this program.  Now I have to find another one.  Christina can you hold classes out here too?

A store close to my store closed last week and so my store has been terribly busy, every day has seemed like the day before a holiday.  I got a few people at work to join me in a biggest looser competition.  I hope I am not the only one serious about it.  It $50 to compete.  Total winning pot should be about $400.  I am hungry and sore!

Daddy has been blow drying hair on a regular basis lately.  All on his own, not at my request.  He is doing a good job too.  He fixed Victoria's hair with the blow dryer and roller brush and it looks really cute.  My how his life has changed, ... from computer dork to blow drying and roller brushing hair.  He is such a good daddy!  (I think he is still a computer dork too. Ha, ha!)

"Call the police!"

I am on the phone with Chris while I am at work, the lobby girl knocks on the door and says loss prevention wants me to call the police.  I hang up with Chris and dial the city police department.  We have a shoplifter in custody she tells me and we need help. The shoplifter is not cooperating.   Frantically I am telling the police recepionist that we need a police officer right away.  We cover the details, the officer shows up and I point him in the right direction.  The officer very shortly after walking in comes out and says we'll be back we have something else going on we're busy.  I then find out that the shoplifter took two 16 oz. beers and a roasted chicken from the service deli.  Oh my gosh, it's grand theft!!!   L.P. asks for the checker to scan the items so he knows the dollar value, as he hands her the chicken it gets goopy on his fingers and he licks it off like it is frosting.  YUCK, YUCK, YUCK!!!!!!  Total value $9.88.  I was so embarassed he had me call the police for $9.88.  What an idiot and he is the store security!  I feel safe!

We had to have a tire replaced on the truck beacuse there was a washer with a screw jammed into it.  $116.00!  Ouch!

Camilla told me she went to the nurses office beacuse she had a headache.  I think it's a little early in the school year to be trying to get out of class don't you!  I told her she needs to stay in class so she can learn her letters.  Camilla just typed her own name right there.  Too cute!

Victoria's pre-school teacher told me that she did not get to pick out a treat from the jar because she only got one sticker.  I said "oh, ok".  I looked around and noticed all the other kids had a treat.  Mrs. Hernandez then showed me Victorias pictures and told me she did better this time, she actually colored the apple in and she did ok on her connect the dot picture, but did not really get it.  Ok I said.  Thinking about all this on the way home I thought,  SHE'S ONLY THREE!  And it was only her third day of class.  Camilla is not capable of a connect the dots perfectly either.  Then I began getting mad.  I gave Victoria a treat when we got home and told her she was a good girl.  I voulnteer on Tuesday in her class, hopefully I will get to see what is going.

So here are a few of my favorite things.....

The two little letters finally showed up on my pay stub on Friday.  I was really excited!  I am taking three days off this week and three days off next week.  Maybe I will accomplish something at home.

I have been doing a lot of reading lately, so much so that I have become really picky about what I read.  I can't seem to bring myself to read another drawn out romance novel.  I can tell right away if the author is any good.  I guess this bothers me because now I don't know what to read.  I guess this was inevitable, I picked up a new one the other night and had to put it in the trash after the first chapter, it was too predictable.  I am sad about this and worried I won't be able to just pick up a book anymore.  I need to read to give me an break from everything.  Any recommendations?  No horror or scarry books.  E-mail me on my regular e-mail!

Two Little Letters:

These two little letters have made me cranky, angry, tired, happy, excited, frustrated, and depressed.

Two earn two little letters I have worked 80 days, 40 hours a week, 640 total hours, 38,400 total minutes (not a minute shy) for 16 weeks.  Straight through since June 5th with only two days off a week.  I have dealt with too many upset customers, gossipping co-workers, co-workers not speaking to each other, done over 800 overrides, loaned thousands of dollars, counted over $3,040,000 by hand, hand punched in over 5000 time clock edits, checked off 1920 payroll checks, completed over 100 write ups, suspended 4 employees,  completed term paperwork for 25 people, worked on 2 holidays, had an old man yell  in my face for the lunch meat cooler for being warm, a man get angry with me because we need a rack for our ads right by the door not 10 feet in the door, had a woman yell at me about how rude I was for moving her shopping cart so I could get by,  a man throw three Red Bulls into the floor, found out about coworkers taking pictures of themselves naked and sending it to another married coworker, completed over 160 refunds, depositing over 2 million dollars in cash, deposited over $640,000 in checks, adding up over $960,000 in coinstar vouchers,  been there while the store director took 3 vacations and the grocery manager took 2 vacations, replaced about 64 shifts from other co-workers calling in sick, had my co-manager tear down a picture of Ellie because I gave her write up to the store director after she told me she was not going to sign it,  missed 2 vacations one to AZ and another to Utah,  eared 640 hours of pay plus a little OT, earned triple time on two holidays, laughed with my friends, tried to avoid working, worked while my husband took a 10 day and a 4 day vacation,  and finally finished on Sunday the 23rd.  All of this and more just to earn two little letters.

F.T.
FULL TIME employee

The benefits of a full time employee are 100x's better.  It's worth fighting for.  Believe me it was a fight.  I was not sure I was going to make it, but I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I attempted this once and did not finish because the whole family had the throw up flu after Thanksgiving and I had to call in sick.  I had completed 10 weeks and H.R. said I had to start all over.  This has been a real struggle to complete but I finally completed it, now I am just waiting for those two little letters to appear on my pay stub.  I need to Celebrate!

Vacation is in the future for me I hope!  Maybe a few xtra scrapping days too.

Today was Victorias first day of Pre-school.  She told me she was scared.  Her teachers name is Maria Hernandez (how many Maria Hernandez's are there) and Stephanie Goodenough.  She attends Tue and Thurs 10-12pm.  She said the same stuff as Camilla did.  "I don't know what I did today mom."  She said no songs, no stories, no playing, she only told me about the school bus picture that came home.  I am helping out two times in October, I will find out then what goes on in class I guess.

03/14/2007

Today is Ellie's 6 month birthday!  I can't believe how fast it has gone.  She is such a sweet baby.  I am trying to get her to sit up on her own.  She face plants a lot.

This is what happened to me at work today:

The lobby girl calls me over and asks me if this young man can return his Red Bull drinks (he has three) they are all expired and he does not have a receipt.  He is really dirty and grubby.  I ask again if he has a receipt and he says no.  I tell him sorry without the receipt we cannot return it (this is company policy).  He leaves, I go back to the office and they call me out again.  This time the assistant front end manager is there and the lobby girl.  I get out there and there is a older man standing at the counter with the three Red Bull's.  He says I sent my son in because I don't have my shoes on, and he proceeds to show me his bare, filthy feet.  He is just as dirty and grubby if not more.  He says I need to return these.  I ask do you have the receipt. No he tells me.  He then tells me he just bought them and they were expired when he bought them.  He also tries to make his story more convincing by telling me he has six kids and spend a thousand dollars in our store every week.  I have never seen the man before and neither has anyone else.  He begs me to give him the money or store credit.  I tell him company policy states that he needs to have a receipt.  I was just about to say "but this time I will return them on a gift card" when he blows up and says "well you just lost a big spending customer" and grabs the Red Bulls and slams one into the floor so hard it explodes.  He is screaming and yelling "this is what you can do with you Red Bulls" and slams another one into the floor, it explodes.  He calls me some terrible names that I will not repeat followed by some bad language and slams another one into the floor, it explodes.  A checker was walking by at the same time and she had to run so she would not get hit with the can.  Everyone on the front end was quiet as he walked out the door.  The customer at the first checkstand says "I'll take him out I am having a bad day anyway."  We all let out a big breath and there I was.  No one had said anything to help me out or back me up by the way they all just stood there while I took the heat.  I then called for a clean up and called the assistant store director to come up front.  I told her what had happened and she said "I'm over it lets just get this cleaned up".  This all occoured just before my lunch hour.  I was afraid to go out to my car, but I did.  The more I thought about it the more I realized the guy probably stole the drinks from the back dock and needed the money for booze or something really important like a pack of cigarettes.  The joys of working in a grocery store!

It has been a really busy week.  On Wednesday I met with Amys parents.  It was sad and brought back a lot of memories.  We met at McDonalds for ice cream and the play equipment.  Her mom, Diane, got out pictures and spread them all out all over the table,  then came some of Amy's jewlerey, then the program from the funeral, then a CD that Amy sang and played the piano on, then she asked me if I wanted to borrow the DVD of the funeral.  It was like Mary Poppins bag of never ending stuff.  It was hard to take, I cried some and Amy's mom cried.  I told her I did not think I could bring myself to watch the DVD, she understood.  Her dad agreed he said he does not like to watch it either.  I told her that she can't discount Chuck so much, because if it wasn't for Chuck I would never have met Amy.  She wanted me to say bad stuff about Chuck and I just did not want to get involved.  I left sad and upset.  I really do miss Amy, she was a wonderful friend.  I really enjoyed our friendship and we loved spending time with each other gossipping and laughing and talking about the future.  I never imagined she would end up in Pennsylvania in a fatal car accident at the young age of 27 with her only child.  It still makes me sad when I think about her not being here anymore.

Thursday was Chris's only day off, it went by fast.  I did not feel well and went to bed early.

Camilla is tired I think.  This was her first full week of school.  Victoria has been on her own without Camilla and I think she enjoys it, she does not have to share her toys.

KUDOS TO SHELLY!  Her mashed potatoes and mini meatloaves were delicious.  The girls asked for seconds.

Till next time!

Guess what Camilla had to say about School?

"What did you do at school today?"

"I don't know mom"

"What did you talk about in class?"

"I don't know mom."

"What are your frineds names?"

"I don't know mom."
"I did'nt eat my lunch at school, I'm hungry mom."

Well it's a good thing I'm not paying $200 a month for "I don't know mom" anymore.  Otherwise I would be pretty upset.  I think Grandma Linda was able to get more out of her than I was.  She told Grandma her friends name was Madison.  Lucky Grandma.  I guess I had my hopes to high about what her feedback would be.  Yesterday she told me there are two hand signals for the teacher.  The first on is hand up with fingers crossed means potty time is needed.  The second one is hand up with the peace sign (two fingers) means I need a drink of water.  I guess I will just get a little dribble every day of what is going on in school.

Funny story:

The first day of school there were a couple of moms there that I know from church.  I introduced Chris to them.  The second day of school Chris was on his own for drop off and pick up.  One of the moms I had introduced him to asked Chris what the baby's name was.  He told me there was a long pause from him and an "I don't know".  He was too tired and stressed to remember his own daughters name.  I laughed for a while after he told me his story.  I am not sure if he ever remembered her name to tell the mom or not.  It also seems like "I don't know" is a theme in our family.
