Timeline

My goal (my wife's and kids' idea) was to get the car street legal by the last day of the school year (June 4, 2009).  This would allow my kids to ride home from their respective schools in style.  The goal was met!  First drive was on Memorial Day (5/25/09).  Because the car wasn't officially street legal yet, we just ran to the gas station and around the block a few times.

June 4 was my son's last day in junior high and my daughter's last day in elementary, so this was a significant day.  Last day of school pick up occured as desired, with many students, teachers, and parents duely impressed by my kids' ride home.

I joined some other gear heads for breakfast at a nice place in Crosby, Texas called "Star Cafe."  Normally, I wouldn't drive 80 miles round trip just for breakfast, but driving a car like this makes the trip worth while.  The breakfast was good, too!

I have taken the car to a monthly gathering of awesome machinery called "Coffee and Cars" (http://www.coffeeandcarshouston.com/).
