The cockpit interior is made of aluminum panels.  Some of the panels are temporarily attached to the chassis with a few screws when the kit is shipped from the factory.  To permanently install the panels, holes are drilled through the panels and into the chassis frame for the rivets.  The panels are bonded with silicone and riveted in place.  I sealed all the seams between panels using metal foil tape.

I put thermal insulation on the outsides and insides of the foot box panels to reduce the engine heat and noise that gets into the cockpit.

There were lots of individual pieces of carpeting.  With the carpet in, the cockpit has a nice finished look.
