Timeline

With the trunk work finished, it was time to mount the body.  We had a beautiful south Texas winter day to work with, so my wife, son, and a couple of neighbors helped me put the body on the chassis (while my daughter took pictures of the historic event).

Next, I mounted all the accessories (lights, bumpers, windshield, roll bar, side pipes, etc.) to make sure everything fits.

Once I made sure that all the accessories fit properly, I removed them.  A week later, I finally received my tires, so I had them mounted on the wheels and put them on the car.  It looks much better with the real rubber on it vs. the temporary spare tires it's been rolling around on.

The tires are Kumho Ecsta XS tires.  The fronts are 245/45R17 on 9" wide rims and the rears are 315/35R17 on 11" wide rims.  The wheels are by Team III Wheels.

Next, I worked on trimming the doors, hood, and trunk lid to the right size, smoothing out all the body openings, and sanding the body to get it ready for painting.

Once that was done, we loaded the car on a trailer to take the body to a paint shop.

Halfway through the process.
The seams have been ground down, filled and shaped.  There's a good coat of primer in preparation for final blocking.

Miguel and his crew at M&R Body Shop (www.MandRBodyShop.com) did an awesome job.  The maroon color is Chrysler Deep Cranberry Pearl and the white stripes are Toyota/Lexus Blizzard Pearl.
