Members of the FM LADY THUNDER visit the Cross Timbers Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Flower Mound, TX.

Team members delivered bags of candy and cards to residents and met a lady named Annie Early.  Ironically, Annie was a starting guard of a Pasadena, Texas girls high school basketball team in the early '20's.  Annie identified her team was the back-to-back state champions in 1920 and 1921.

The girls loved speaking with Annie as much as Annie loved speaking with the girls.  We returned a week later to present Annie with a framed photo (similar to the photo below) and a basketball identifying Annie as an "Honorary Member of FM LADY THUNDER" signed by all the players

It's really amazing to witness a single leg amputee bound in a wheel chair to still have the willingness and ability to successfully dribble a basketball at the age of 100 years old!  Annie preaches tough, in your face, defense EVERY VISIT and identifies this as the key to her teams success in winning the Texas state championship in back-to-back seasons.

A few on the team still visit Annie from time-to-time and have developed quite an important mentorship opportunity for one of our young players.
