The stock woofers have an integral plastic frame that raises the woofer away from the door. The depth of the stock woofer
is pretty close to that of the JL woofer, but if you try and bolt it directly to the door, the magnet hits the window when
it is retracted. To remedy this, I built four baffles out of 3/4" MDF. Below are the instructions for making those. The process
is similar regardless of which brand woofer you use. Some may be shallower and may not need one.
Tip: Buy a Rotozip. This thing is perfect for this type of work!

Here are the instructions:
1) Your speakers should have come with a template for the mounting of the woofer. It will be a sheet of paper or a cardboard
ring you can trace. Simply trace this onto your MDF sheet.
2) Using the stock woofer and some cardboard, make a template for the mouting flange for the baffle. I first cut a hole
in the cardboard and slipped it over the back of the speaker. Next I traced the outline of the woofers mounting plate onto
the cardboard and marked the bolt holes.
3) You now have a template to use on the MDF. Center the template over the circle you drew for the speaker and trace
the triangular mounting bracket onto the MDF. Mark the holes as well.
4) Now cut out the circel for the woofer. Drop in the woofer and mark the mounting holes. Drill starter holes for all the
places you marked.
5) Now use the Rotozip to cut around the outside. Now you have a baffle to mount the speakers. The edges don't need to
be perfect, as they will be hidden under the doors. Like I said, I made all four in 15 minutes. Had I taken longer, I could
have mede them prettier, but why bother. No one will ever see them anyway.
