I am currently on my third set of wheels. The factory 15" wheels are certainly light, but are quite boring.

I first upgraded to a set of Scion tC rims. Nice, but heavy. The handling benefits were worth any loss in mileage.

Now I have some Centerline wheels. Nice and light, and I still get the handling.

Here is a handy MPG calculator. You can even compare your Prius to another car.

Here are the stock aluminum wheels. They were nice and light, but very plain. Besides, every other Prius has them. This picture is the wheels without the plastic trim ring.

Scion tC.

These are the Scion tC rims I bought. The stock wheel/tire weighs 32.2 pounds. These weighed in at almost 43 pounds. The handling benefit was great, but hte weight was not.

Centerline.

Here are the final wheels. These are forged aluminum Centerline RPM's, in a 17x7 size. Offset is 42 mm, and bolt pattern is 5x100mm. They are much, much lighter than the tC wheels, and only a hair above the stock setup. Part of the problem was the ehavier tires, so I bought the General Exclaim UHP tires, which weigh a feathery 18 pounds.

Close up of my nice shiny wheels. handling is far superior to the stock setup. Combined with the TRD suspension, the car handles completely different.
