Welcome to the website of the 35th Indiana Volunteer Infantry "1st Irish".

The 35th Indiana is a Not for Profit Living History organization based in East Central Indiana. Our main purpose is to honor the men of the original 1st Irish Reg’t.

Listed to the left, you will find many items that include historical information on the 35th Indiana Infantry, and some of the many campaigns that the 35th took part in during the American Civil War.

If you are browsing for information about our re-enacting organization, you will also find information about how to join, and information about our group.  We are a member unit of the Indiana Brigade of the 1st Federal Division. The 35th Indiana takes part in many different events and activities throughout the year. Included are Living History demonstrations at the Indiana State Museum, Dublin Irish Fest, and major  re-enactments throughout the state and country. Our unit also takes part in school programs to teach our young children the life and times of  the citizen soldier during the mid 19th century.
