About the Members of the Project:
This group of musicians is loosely knit and flexible - and they all have "day jobs"!

FOUNDING MEMBERS

Raven Cusson
Raven is a total ADD "child" and needs tons of outlets to keep her ever shifting focus reasonably occupied! So in the musical arena - she began playing concert flute at the age of 8. In the past several years, she has branched out quite a bit!

She plays, teaches and performs on Native American Flute. Raven also plays Clarinet, Melodica, Irish Flute, Irish Low Whistle and Tin Whistle. She has recently acquired a fairly good working relationship with guitar (both six and twelve string), "futzes" with Keyboards, and percussion. She considers herself a singer-songwriter. Although that realization is pretty recent, so she's trying to make up for lost time! Her voice is something else again, while not the most technically perfect - she sings with an emotion and intensity that makes her vocals memorable.

Raven has a day job, too. She is a gifted intutitve that works very hard to help her clients get passed the past and move into a brighter future and better "version" of themselves. Find out more:  www.RavenSoulReadings.com

Raven also answers the bellows of "Mom!" to Dylan, 13 - Tyler, 12 and Gabriel, 3. Homeschooling all three children She is a member of the South Coast Homeschoolers Group.

Niko Tarini
Definitely one of the "Saints" in this project, Niko performs on Multicultural Hand Drums and Percussion. With a vocal range from Baritone to Tenor, Niko adds vocal diversity to Saints & Ravens compositions. Recently rediscovering his songwriting history, we look forward to hearing his latest efforts!

Niko is the other half of RavenSong, Native American Flute and Drum performance. This duo, performs completely improvised, on the spot and intutively - Niko is able to "read" Raven in an uncanny way. While she is almost never sure where she is going with any intuitive composition, Niko never misses a beat, and each number's ending is always flawless! As Far as Raven is concerned, there's nobody like Niko!

Niko is also a supporting player with Miracle Fish Puppet Theater, and you may have seen him as the Gatekeeper for Toe Jam Puppet Band on Mondays at the Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford!

Raven and Niko have a studio together, where they teach Art and Music to children and adults, as well as offer and coordinate a number of metaphysical services through a variety of practitioners.

CORE MEMBERS

Bill Reidy and Elle Higgins

Bill and Elle are a husband and wife duo, so it's kind of tough to separate their bios -

After years of searching for her musical soulmate, Elle met her husband, Bill Reidy, with whom she performs early blues, folk and gospel.  Bill is a excellent singer and multi-instrumentalist and is skillful at slide guitar, cornet, trombone, harmonica, recorder and flute. He's one of those mathematical geniuses that knows every scale and key!

Elle performs with acoustic finger picking guitar, washboard and harmonica.  When they first met, Elle and Bill formed an electric blues band with Elle on bass guitar and Bill on electric guitar and played in the Boston area.  They now perform with singer/songwriter Susan Lainey of New Bedford in her band, Moodswing. You can find out more about Susan Lainey and Moodswing here:
www.susanlainey.com

In addition to Moodswing and the Saints & Ravens Project, Elle and Bill back the Wayne St. Pierre Band whenever possible.

Ellie Mae Higgins grew up listening to her dad play piano and sing funny Irish songs, which he had learned as a boy from his dad.  As a child, Elle played the accordion and then as a teenager she began playing acoustic guitar.  She fell in love with the early blues guitar heroes such as Blind Boy Fuller, Pink Anderson, Memphis Minnie and Tampa Red and studied blues guitar with Grammy Award winner, Paul Rishell.  Also a big fan of Motown, R&B, soul, and swing, Elle cites all of these as her musical influences.

Elle’s work for several years as a preschool teacher inspired the material on the Miss Ellie CD.  She has completed the training program in Early Childhood Music from the Music Together® Program at Princeton's Center for Music and Young Children, and is a member of the Children's Music Network.  Her day job is as a children’s entertainer performing interactive music in preschools, where she is known as “Miss Ellie.”
