We feel a connection with every person on this planet, those we've met and those we've yet to meet. Our music examines the many emotions of the human condition. Our name, Blues Mama is our euphemism and musical pun for our beloved Mother, Planet Earth. You’ll find Her influence in our music, as well. We feel a deep and sincere need to connect people to themselves and each other. Our music represents our many forays into the inner cosmos of the human heart, mind and soul.

Stylistically speaking, on a basic level, our music is a kaleidoscopic mix of torch, blues, soul, folk, jazz, and world musical traditions. We listen to so many genres of music and have been influenced by far too many styles, as well as individual musicians, to say that we’re any one genre.

We aren’t seasoned musicians by any stretch of the imagination. We’re mostly self tutored, and learning as we go. Our sound is minimalist by necessity but by choice as well. Our hope is to return the sense of the village musician to each person. There is music in us all; you don’t need to be classically trained to make the music that’s in your heart. We are living proof of that fact.

There is nothing trained or contrived about our compositions but the one thing we know to be true is our intent. Our music exposes the naked heart, without armor or pretense. Our intention - our mission - the motivation that drives our need to make music - is emotional in nature. We want each person who listens to feel connected and understood.
