Unlucky

[WRITER'S NOTES]
Ty wrote the guitar part - a synthesis of his Django Reinhardt and Swing phases - it seems to have a sort of nouveau cabaret feel to it - so of course it screamed out for a clarinet (at least, to me). While I've had a clarinet for a while, I hadn't quite gotten the hang of it yet. So, I literally had to learn to play clarinet for this song. I'd only been 'actually' playing for a day when I recorded this... so don't judge the clarinet too harshly! =o) We had a lot of fun recording this!

Unlucky [LYRICS]

I saw you walk in from across the room
You took no time to find me under the moon
And the honey dripped
from your silvered liars tongue....
To you, I was... a song unsung.
Heard you can’t keep a good man down
–Well that’s just fine, but I can
Do anything when I make up my mind

And lemme tell you what’s on that mind...
No I won’t be unlucky a third time...
No I won’t be unlucky a third time...
No I won’t be unlucky a third time...

And they say a good man is...
Ooooohhh soooo hard to find
So I don’t think I’ll go looking for love, anymore
But if it shows up at my door – well... Oooooh
I know that a hard man is
Ooooohhh soooo good to find,
Then sent on down the line...
Cause I’m doin’ just fine.

Lemme tell you what’s on my mind...
No I won’t be unlucky a third time...
No I won’t be unlucky a third time...
No I won’t be unlucky a third time...

You were sweet as sugar
Hard as rock candy
you were...oh so dandy
but it’s time you were movin’ on
cuz I done sung you my...song
