2010 Ft. Wayne Dance for All

Thanks to everyone for their continued support for this wonderful dance weekend.  The Hilton at the Grand Wayne is officially sold out.  However, Jamie is starting a "waiting list" for guests who want a room in case there are any cancellations (thejamiemarshall@comcast.net).  There's plenty of rooms available at the Hilton Gardin Inn ($89 per night w/ free airport shuttle).  Call HGI at 260-435-1777.  We also have a block of rrooms at the Ft. Wayne Hotel & Convention Center (formerly the Holiday Inn/Clarion in downtown) ($89 per night w/ free airport shutttle, shuttle to the Grand Wayne, and free breakfast).  Call 260-422-5511 for reservations.  Be sure to mention the Ft. Wayne Dance for All to receive the special discounted rate.  Barney and Jamie are working daily on details to continue the tradition for one of the best dance weekends!  There's a total of over 32,000 square feet of ballroom space, including 16,000 for the main ballroom, just waiting for the party!  The show, "Life's A Beach" is going to be a blast!  Remember, pre-registered guests get an early admission ticket to the show.  Don't miss it!  Make plans to arrive on Thursday for the Welcoming Party, which includes line and pattern partner demos.  The new web site, www.ftwaynedanceforall.com should be available very shortly.

LINE DANCE TO BECOME OLYMPIC SPORT

The International DanceSport Federation (IDSF) is the sport’s world governing body recognized by the International Olympic Committee. The mission of IDSF is to regulate, administer and develop DanceSport.

IDSF recognizes the United Country Western Dance Council (UCWDC(R))as the sole worldwide representative of the sports of Country Western Dance and Line Dance.

The IDSF will form the World DanceSport Federation, WDSF, in 2012, again with the UCWDC(R) as a member.  As a result, qualified UCWDC Couples and Line Dancers, Teams and/or Troupes will have the right of full participation in the World Games in 2013.  The WDSF will serve as the UCWDC's dancers entry point for participation in future Olympic Summer Games.
